I know that it's important for balance. But since AOE specials dont stick anyway and the max level of pets is 70 - what is the point. Also, giving the fact that our Kinetic resists cap is set at 60%. It not like we would be making controllable cl 70 pets with 100% kinetic (PlainsWalker DNA).

I don't see why we can't sample everything in the game. If its an absurd CL then it won't fit into a template anyways. High tier pets really aren't worth making in the system that exist now. Any BE should be able to make a set of CL35 pets that are better equiped than a CL70 pet in any situation.BEs really need to be able to put 20k Health into a CL70 pet.

Most CHs just do PvM, if you can max out PvM tanking potential at CL30 then what is the point of getting a CL70 pet.

Fix the cloning system for invalid low level pets and allow sampling from all creatures, its a system that has its own checks and balances.

Actually, I don't agree that a pair of 35's should equal one 70, and in the wild they wouldn't (I doubt two Graul Maulers could take out the Reclusive Cavern Spider Queen on their own, for example).

I do agree that changes in other game systems have made the Sample Cap a bit pointless (unless I'm missing something) a cap of 100 would be nice, though even with the current cap we can make things that are untameable. A cap of 100 would stop people complaining about BE's "greifing" Kryat Hunters, but still allow access to interesting DNA mixes.

true doesnt make sense. even if we could sample everything in game, it would still mean alot of work just to bring it down to a low enough a cl for a MCH to use, sacrifing much ham and bringing medium/heavy armor types etc down to light armor

I agree with Windsplitter, raising sampling limit would be a waste. It would take so much work to make it usable, and it probably wouldnt be all that much better.

I agree that a higher CL cap would probably be more trouble than its worth but why not have it there for those that want to take the effort? if nothing else would be intresting to make furniture with full kyrat stats even if it would be too big to use. and as far as the guy that said a pair of 35s isnt better than a single 70 I'd say they can definatly be better. you used GM's in your example, I'v got a lvl 35 pet on my CH that could mop the floor with a GM and not even break a swet. I'd have to run a few duels but I'd guess that a graul would only take off about 1/3 of its HP befor the graul went down. havent tried sicin it on a queen yet but I'm prety sure a pair of them could take down the queen maby one would drop in the prossess butthey would win. GM's are prety weak sence their armor got nerfed, they arnt the tanks they once were.

I'm not saying that two CL35 pets SHOULD be able to take down a CL70 pet, I'm saying under the current system two CL35 WILL take down a CL70 pet with ease if they are all made by MBEs. You cannot make a great CL70 pet right now b/c the DNA you are using is coming from a CL75 pet at best, where as a CL35 pet is usually made with CL40-70 creatures. That gives a vast amount of variability.

Most MBEs know there are about 5 pets that will push a pet up to CL70, and if you took off the worthless stats, like having mind equal to health, then you would have a CL30-40 pet that does an equally good job at tanking.

The only need for a sampling cap now is for the processes that make ungodly low CL pets. If that was fixed and the CL equasion was stable, there would be no need for a cap. So you use DNA with 100k HAM, thats great but it won't be CL70. We need more variability for CL70 pets, that can happen if we can sample CL100-150 pets and mix them with CL50 pets, do some experimenting and get a CL70 pet. I hate that CL70 pets are more show than useful.

Makes sense... solid argument for raising the cap.. I don't think it should be higher then CL 100 though... I think that would make a CL70 pet worthwhile... cause right now I can get 2 35 pets with **edit** near the stats I have on 55-65 pets.... and the 2 pets will work better then the 1 pet... I think a CL 70 pet should be twice the pet that 1 CL 35 pet is.... to start with, but a CL 70 pet should be able to beat 2 cl35 pets relatively easy... the comparison being:

A master rifleman against 2 rifleman that only have 8 boxes of rifleman each.... the master rifleman should be able to beat them... (I think after combat revamp it will work like this, but as of now... it would be a tough fight...)
