I agree we do need a new corrospondent.. Has anyone sent a private message to any of the devs requesting a new corrospondent though?

I think Talthazar did an admirable job of representing us, but the simple fact is that he is no longer active in the BE community, for whatever reason, and has been absent from the forums for over a month. That's a shame, in my personal estimation, as it is no doubt a difficult role and finding a replacement will be challenging, but it is also, unfortunately, necessary. We need a BE Correspondent that is currently active, and able to communicate our needs to the development team, as well as those of the developers in proposing new features, changes, etc. that will affect us or other classes we support directly, such as CH, Chef and Tailor, or indirectly.
The Correspondent should be active in the forums, as well as playing an active BE character, preferrably with a "Live Server" BE and a BE on Test, either currently or willing to develop a BE there, so that we see the effect of proposed changes communicated as well as carry the live-server concerns back and forth.
Our representative needs to be well-spoken/written, and able to put forth our concerns clearly and concisely, as well as back up the statements with the facts gathered from the community. As they will need to communicate both with the developers and community relations and the player community at large, I would hope to see quite regular posts and communications. FAQ and other compilations are very nice, but I think our correspondent's primary focus needs to be that; talking to the players as well as the SOE staff and being that important channel of communication that we are sadly missing at this point.
I'd like to see people's suggestions and if there are other ideas or needs, that we see them addressed in the new role of the correspondent (Not the wish-list of things we want fixed or added, but things directly to do with the correspondent's activities and role as our representative.)
Please don't bury this thread in a mountain of "we need this new creature" posts, as it will not make the impression we need to make to Thunderheart and the developers as a serious request to get a new correspondent. Lets focus on the process of getting one selected, and then we can compile the things we need them to address for us.
Suggestions, nominations and comments?

I think we need someone like n'Jessi the Tailor Correspondant, she's fantastic and has particularly shown her brilliance with the stealth nerf/bug with clothing sockets - she has conveyed as much information as she has allowed to give and has made sure everyone knows that where she is holding back on information it is because she isnt allowed to give it.
The most important quality imo in a correspondant is communication with the BE community.
Typically the devs have chosen quiet people often with low post counts for the position as correspondant and we need to let them know that isnt what we want.
No we dont want a ranter and a flamer but we do want someone who will continually fight for our cause - particularly in the light of the recent pet validation checks which are making that line of our profession even more broken than ever.
I think we also need someone who can see past the pet crafting to look at other issues - we are a profession split into pet crafters and component crafters - and each side needs adressing equally.

First, I'd like to know why Talthazar is MIA. He's around, just not posting ![]()
Unfortunately, it's a volunteer job that should be a staff position, but we ain't gonna change that one. It really takes knowing program structure in order to be able to qualify suggestions and get good feedback.
And I've seen good correspondents, like Tal and others, get blown out of the water by /lipservice, followed by /stealthnerf or publish not close to devs statement.
I'd nominate ArthurDent, not because I agree with him all the time, but because he tends to stay with the facts, and on point.

Regardless of who we chose, the author is right, and I don't forsee anyone in disagreement, WE NEED A NEW ONE.
