Any recommendations on what to look for and so on? I'm a non-CH, and was looking for a pet to help me do some PvE hunting.

Also, canI have a pet and a droid out at the same time?

There are many types of non-CH pets out there. Some are fairly useless, you'll usually find these on the bazaar, and some are useful in varying degrees. The world maps have a vendor category for pet vendors and there's a sticky in this forum listing BE vendors by galaxy. I'd suggest you check out those two to see what people on your server have available.

Generally, non-ch pets are useless. However, there has been a recent surge of 60% kin/45% blast/11k Health non-ch pets with prices ranging from 100k - 2m. These have been branded 'overpowered' by the devs and at some point they will get balanced, however using them is not illegal but many see it as unethical. It is up to you whether or not you want to use them. However, there is a more 'ethical' option of buying a 14% kin/14% blast pet, which 99% of pet creating BEs can make. These go for around 15-30k. Non-ch's are allowed upto 2 stored pets and 5 droids, however you can only have 1 (in total) called at one time.
