I sadly have gotten into a rut grinding sampling xp for the village and it has gotten me to thinking about a couple of things that could help us out not only for the village but for other uses as well. 1st is I beg the devs to re evaluate the new item increase I am failing atleast 2x more when I go beyond the 60 item range the item increase is great but if it causes us to fail 2x as much then what is the point to us BEs?. 2nd it would be a unique idea to add in a randomization point when sampling monsters like you can get from hitting a monster a certain number of times with a weapon. Based upon the HAM, the agressiveness, and the lvl of the creature we could see randomized xp vs the standard of 80 or some odd xp for sampling all grubbers like one with 50 more health vs another with 50 less health. The 3rd thing is the failing/aggro rate of us BEs, I can see where I would have a 25% chance out of the 4 scenarios vs sampling a mutant rancor but not sampling say a corellian butterfly or a berserk kahmurra. I mean master BEs are the supreme guys. I still need to test out 1 scenario but I think that a master BE should really have a 95% success rate against creatures that are lvl 25 and below then with creatures lvl 25-50 we have a 75% chance and lvl 51-70 (or 75 forget the cap) we would have atleast a 45 to 50% chance. Just a couple of ideas I have and I hope my fellow BEs will agree to some of them.

If they put a cap at cl75 as samplable, then a MASTER BE (not a part time BE, or an inept be...the title is MASTER) should be able to get a sample out of everything within the limits 90% of the time.
I mean how often do nurses fail taking a blood sample when you are ill? It's the same idea...also nurses don't kill you when they get one small blood sample...

But we are (mostly) willing patients and the nurse/lab tech is not 10-15m away when the sample is taken. He/she also doesn't hop on a motorcycle immediately after putting the needle in either.
Perhaps a bonus to success based on how close you are to the target, if the target or you moved in the 2 seconds prior to the sample ending and the aggro level of the target.

Yes, but for non-aggro critters they are often so apathetic to our presence as to be equivalent to 'willing'. Also nurses, although highly skilled, are not in my opinion a 'Master' tag.
I admit that getting a sample from a MR should be more difficult than a Durni, but surely it shouldn't be an almost automatic cloning situation for a 'Master' just after failing 9 times in row.
I am a TKM, so have never actually hit the cloners from failing on MR, however I have been in MANY situations where if I had not had my TKM skills, I would have been waking up with decay/wounds in a small building in the Dath Trade Outpost...I don't envy non-combat BEs.

yup I do agree there. Like i'm saying we get about 700 or so xp from mutant rancors as I have gaged it I do not believe we can exceed that thresh hold of xp. If I could pick just 1 I would really want the randomization factor in there so we can get some what of an unpredictable number in there since we are not like the regular crafters. Atleast i'm getting some good responses

Something that I've noticed recently.... I haven't been able to Sample a critter to death (exception is below). Usually after a few samples, it agros me... I run away and lose agro, then take another Sample, then it dies.
Another thing that happens, 1 sample... then the critter dies. This was particularly painful last night, when I found some Merek Death's Heads after an hour of searching and kept 1-sampling them

About three or four weeks back, Zanti went on a rancor sampling hunt, with two TKA/Pistoleer/Smuggler types in tow as bodyguards.
The first lair, I poke a rancor to death, and the one body guard says to the other "Why are we here? He kills them better than we can!"
Then I get a crit fail, and all heck breaks loose!
It will be worse when I give up all my combat skills for Chef eventually, but having a couple of bodyguards standing 64m or so away is very helpful.

yes unfortunately I have been noticing an increase in the number of aggro situations myself sometimes I can crack off atleast 7 to 8 samples of 1 creature before it dies with no aggros on other occasions I have to go back atleast 4 or 5 times in order to get a sample the worst one I hate is when I fail to sample a creature and it aggros. I have actually had only 1 occurence where I sampled the creature it yielded nothing and it died. However (devs plead read) I have been experience a problem with sampling. I am now starting to exceed my usual fail thresh hold of 1 to 2 times within the 60 item limit to now failing 3 times in a row. Please I ask that we may get somewhat of an explanation as to why this is so. Are you making sampling like accuracy now where we can miss a couple of times in a row like when you go to hit a creature with a weapon or is this just me having an extreme case of bad luck 50% of the time I go to sample

It seems pretty random to me. Last weekend Zanti went to Dantooine with his two TKA bodyguards, and the first voritor dasher was poked to death, six samples. The next one aggroed after two samples. The next one aggroed after five samples.
OTOH, last night Zanti was poking hermit spiders, and got six samples off of one which died, then poked another one four times before a crit fail.

I don't think there is anything to worry about. There have been mixed results from the community and since the numbers are based on a random number generator, it is possible that you are just having an off day. It's when you consistently, day-to-day, get a reduced amount of results passed a certain point you should worry about it.

thats actually what i'm saying zadokk the new inventory system needs a 2nd glance cause I tested it 3 times within my 3 times I took brandy after it would exceed 60 items I would start more and more commonly getting 2 failures and just now today I started getting more than 2 failures w/o having gone beyond the 60 item range.

Hmmm
You know, now that I think about it, as the inventory gets more filled, up, the crit fails did seem to come sooner on the voritor expedition.
I'll try to pay closer attention later in the week when I'm out poking yard trash for CL 10 pet filler.

wonder if arthur our correspondant can comment on this I will actually go run a test and see if I get the same results. I have a funny feeling it maybe hampered by the lvl of the creature I was sampling combined with the over 60 items in my inventory.
