Thread: sampling/mask scent in new patch

Ok, before anyone complains about mask scent and dna sampling in the new patch, here are my numbers, sampling on Endor (cowardly gurrecks, merek death's heads, merek cavern creepers, blushing jax, mantigue night stalker, bark mite burrowers, bark mite burrower queens)


# samples attempted with backpack < 60: 38

# successful samples: 30

% success: 79%

# aggros: 5 (all during my first 20 attempts or so, odd)


# samples attempted with backpack > 60: 20

# successful samples: 19

% success: 95%

# aggros: 0


# hours on Endor: 2.5

# mask scent breakages: 3 (exploration 4, +25 mask scent clothing)

Can you explain what the "with backpack" and "< 60" mean? I'm a little lost here..

"With backpack < 60" means there were fewer than 60 items in his backpack when he took the sample

There have been concerns that your inability to sample is tied to the "old" inventory limit. For example when your inventory limit was 60, we know that when you were at 60/60 you'd fail in dna sampling 100% of the time. So some people believe, thatwhen you are at 60/80 now, that somehow you fail more in sampling. It's a reasonable concern, but I believe it to be unfounded... at least until somebody proves to me otherwise

I think what I have been experiencing is more of the failing when I first start. Once I get into the "groove" I get more success'. Boy when I fail on that first time thought it is a agrro all the way. "You have been slained by a Chuba" hehehe

arthur i'm gonna go conduct some experimentations on this topic and see if it might be influenced by some force. I went to the same sampling spot for sense xp (fyi I got lvl III in luck finally after a week of sampling that takes dedication ) every time I exceeded 60 items at about 62 to 64 I could have a failure rate increase. I also fear us BEs are being short changed because I have hardly had failures above 3 unless the creature I was sampling was above my sampling rate and I have been getting those up at the station (a little hint ) a little more than usual even when I was below 60. Please tell me we arn't being prepared for the biggest nerf of all by us being removed. I mean we make chef tissues/tailor stuff which those professions can make on their own if grafted onto them we would be out of a job
