Thread: Talthazar, is the BE role in destroying faction bases bugged?
That said, I do realize how the codons should line up. From my experience, it seems that you have to create codons to match the half given you. The problem is.. that doesn't work.
Is there a minimum number of codons you must match? I have never been successfull without matching a minimum of 24 codons (some odd refrence to the number of *human* chromosomes?) Is this a necessary requirement?
Secondly, the listing of the previous matched codons seems to bear little resemblance to the last set of codons you used.. is this correct?
I should probably just take 100 screenshots next time I'm at the BE terminal and see if I can make any sence of it... so I guess what I'm asking is:
-Is the be terminal working as its supposed to?
-Is there a minimum number of codons we have to match before we can match the DNA (aside from the lower bound of creating the necessary codons)?
-Are the atcg matching up as they are supposed to? It seems backwards but the entire terminal doesn't make much sence so I may be mistaken.
I'm not asking for spoilers here.. In fact I'm requesting that any information that would assist be's in doing this be expressly excluded. Destroying a base should be tough and a walkthrough is not something that needs to be around.
Actually, I think the puzzles for the other classes should be harder.
this really isnt a spoiler, it is needed info that they just dont tell you. but if you dont really want to read it, im gonna put it inblack text, cut n paste the next "line" into notepad.
You are correct about the DNA pairs to match being 24. when yer in the doing the terminal, you are attempting to pass yourself off as one of the ranking officers at that base. The smuggler is doing the same thing, cept his part is a lot easier. Since the ID process mimics Gatica, you have to essentially hack your dna into the system, but before you can do that, you have to successfully make the computer think someone important is there. The game itself is poorly implemented since you get literally no instructions, but that is a different issue.
Also, assuming the 24 is related to human chromosomes... why? there are plenty of non-human species that will have a different number of chromosomes (at least, I'd think they would)
Talthazar, its nice to know someone is in the same boat as I am
There's definitely an AHA! moment. I just did my 3rd base and finally got it. It's hard to believe how easy it really is once you figure it out. I spent 10 minutes on my firsttry and only had 23/24 when we crashed half the planet! This last time it took2 minutes at mostto do (I didn't time it, I will next time). I'd be glad to help people out, but I don't want to spoil it for those who want to get it on their own.

Thx for the info!

Well said about the AHA! moment. I finally saw the light on base #3.
It feels good to be able to do it in 2 to 5 minutes, when it used to take 10 to 15.
