As I had forseen, the stats on DNA Samples WERE counted as the quality of resources for experimentation calculation with the proposes nerf. I was making level 10 creatures last night. Since the beginning stats of the dna samples had 1-200 in the various characteristics, I was only able to increase Hardiness or Dexterity by about 5-10 points per experimentation point. When I experimented on Psy, which had 700/300 I got a 50/5 increase in the respective stats.
Let this be a lesson to us all, and in particular to our correspondent. Many on this board were ready to make the assumption that DNA would be treated differently than resources. Our ability to make pets almost got destroyed.

maybe it would help if we had someone playing on test. I personally cant log on to test (crashes out every time) and dont really have time to level up another BE anyway.

I believe Talthazar and Tal-N have characters on TC.
I'd assume there would be others and it'd be nice if one of them could post about this kind of thing before a publish...

I had the very same experience in experimentation. I am sooooooo glad that they are taking this change away!

Interesting. I noticed yesterday making low level animals the most change I got was 6 points. I didn't make anyhigh level animals because I didn't want to ruin all that DNA I'd gathered.
I noticed also, I get a lot more samples of DNA. I got 6 samples of a deathhead merrek until it finally gave up the ghost.
