ok I have a few comments and a few questions being a new be. Let me say I have read the wonderful FAQ but I am still confused and am looking for a clearer understanding.

I noticed....90% of my samples where LQ BA, and the other 10% being Avg. I sampled most of the trash for the xp but when it came to making a pet, I was able to sample.

BA Greater Desert Womp Rat

LQ Bantha

BA Bull Bantha

BA Bantha Matriarch

Avg Overkreetle

BA Skyck (sp?)

So when I crafted my template I decided I wanted physique to be Matriarch as it is obviously the highest, and the Bull Bantha for prowess. I put the Womp Rat in psycological? Overkreetle in mental and figuring I wanted a pet that could poison the skyck in aggression.

#1 Im not sure what affects what specials a pet should have

#2 does each slot have 2 stats that affect? it seems like it. I have many samples with like 500 endurance but only like 30 dex.

Any way the Matriarch had 351 hardiness on its own, but when I did the combne and got Great Success I got 81 hardiness, used my 1 point into physique and got good success. I used Rancor meat it got from dath and fungi for the flora food.

When I did the combine for my gnort it came out as CL11. he did have the poison special, but about 1100hp 400 action 500 mind. Why would something this low come out as level 11? Is there not a way to check this before I hit the final combine? so I can check what the level will be? I know I am new to this but #1 the samples I used I couldnt even kill myself, So I was SO EXCITED that I was able to even sample them.. so back to my questions

#1 Is it possible to get >Avg samples at lvl 1 sampling, and if so is there a cap as to how high it can go?

#2 What stat Is Most important regarding the meat and flora. ie Carnivore meat 673 flavor 650 flavor 306 OQ....What should I be looking for

#3 anyway to tell what the base cl of the dna is before applying skin ie cl 8 dna template, and add a skin with min cl 2 will it be ten or how does one know...i had to sample my gnort and kill it and start over. nice dna (for me) was totally wasted

#4 What generally offers the best overall DNA on tattoine that can be obtained with sampling 1-2?

I dont need the best pet, But I pretty much stay on tatooine, so can anyone tell me what/where I should sample to get something nice without having to travel off world. I live by fort tusken but can travel anywhere on planet.

Any help or links other than the FAQ would be most appreciated as I really want to try this class out (not holo grinding either) but I'm pretty lost as to how the dna assembly proccess works

I'm also fairly new at this, but here is what I've observed:

1) I never got above average until DNA II

2) There are no stats listed for the meat and flora in the creature, I think they don't matter, but as a preqaution I always use the highest OQ I can

3) the only way to tell is through experience. As for the min level of the creature I don't think that is added - If you have a DNA combine that would be lvl15 and you put it into a kilo it will be lvl40, if you put it into a gnort it would be lvl15.

4) If I rember right I was doing a lot of banthas and lesser dewbacks for dna I-II, I found that I made better xp/hour doing the trash though, less failures. I just went to mos espa and walked around the perimiter of town, there are loads of spawns there.

With your question on physique - that slot only contributes 40% to the final number the rest is various percentages from the other slots, the actrual numbers are here on the board, check the stickies at the top. Basically is you had on sample with 351 and all the rest were in the 10-20 range you can see how they will seriously pull down your one high number.
