I'm getting AOE and bleed specials (and armor) on DNA samples (force strike, poison spray, open wounds, AR1, etc)... but even using purebred DNA combines, I'm losing these at the DNA template level.

admittedly, I'm only BioE 2242 (just started anew with on BioE on TC), but I'm curious:

since AOE's and bleeds are not found on tamable pets, are these specials also verboten for clones?

since others have been successful in getting armor to stick on DNA combines, I'll assume that my low skill is preventing me from achieving this.

for armor make sure you get the best numbers you can for Hardiness and Fortitude in the Physique Slot of the DNA template. I usually make sure I got the best numbers in Dexterity and Endurance in Prowress as well. Then you need to get to experimentation to get Physique up to about the 50% mark before armor will pop into the template. I have never seen Armor pop on the first combine - only when I am experimenting and the experimentation bar pn Physique goes to 50%+. Special seem to work best when I put them into Agresssion and Mind. Anytime you put dna sample that has the ranged attack flag on it in to the mind slot it will carry the ranged attack flag through 100% of the time to the generic template.

Hope that helps some

For armor its appears that you need Armor in Phys, Prow, and Ment from the start. Then getting Phys and sometimes Prow to over 50%, before it will kick in.
