Thread: MCH question for BE: Can you fit Kimo stats in a marek skin?

I have lots of wicked combos that get to lvl 70, but I would like a custom uber-tank, if possible. I bought an average lvl68 kimo last week, I like the stats but I couldnt see anything I was shooting, and he didn't like the caves etc.
So here is the question all spelled out:
"Can I get a lvl 70 general purpose pet with 12k HAM, A1, and decent resists in a medium sized body?"
I like the look of the marek, kliknik, dalyrake, angler family. I also like some of the smaller lizards like Kamms and dragonets.

Last question I guess would be "Anyone selling this pet on Starsider?"

Yes, it can be done.

There are lower-level caps for some models (e.g. Kimo will always be CL40+ regardless of stats), but there is no cap on how high can you go. You could have a CL70 Gnort

You can get this in any skin you want, personally, I'm very fond of gurreks.

One questionI would ask you, however, is why worry about the CL level? It doesn't really effect performance, as far as I can tell. (I'm a master CH) The important considerations I look for in a pet I would use are (in order of importance to me) armor, resists, ham, specials (especially intimidate special), damage and to hit.

To give you an example of the power of intimidate.

Last night we were fighting the blurg raptor on endor, it hits typically in the 1000 range. After it was intimidated by our commando, it was hitting in the 600 range. Thats a huge decrease in damage output.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I agree that the function of the pet is more important than its level. I am also looking for the same qualities of armor, resists ham and specials ( intimidate is great, I also like KD because I dont have the right skills yet).
I am assuming that a lvl70 custom would have better stats, especially in the ones that fluctuate like resists, vulnerability and effectiveness, than a lvl 60 custom with similar priorities. So, since I am MCH with +15/15 taming shirt, lvl 70 is better, right?

After function, it is fun to have wicked looking pets, I would never buy a lvl 70 Gnort.

A level 70 spinflap however....just for the PVP reaction.

The ham, damage, attack speed and a lot of stats will go up with higher CLs. I guess the bottom line is what is fun to use.If I had someone tell me that a CL 70 would make their online time more fun, I'd make it for them.

I have a friend who is a MCH. She likes bunnies.

SoI made hera matched set of VirVur that are CL35 each. AR1, about 10K HAM each. One has strong poison and intimidation, the other medium disease and knockdown. Or maybe the poison one has the knockdown...

Funny to see two bunnies beating down a rancor.|

She also set up a macro for when she does her musicial thing, with the pets dancing with her. QUITE amusing. And it got better when I told her about /tellpet instead of just saying T1 and T2 over and over.

So yes, you can put high DNA into any skin...

Just to back up what the others have said, the skin has no effect on the combat stats of the creature. The skin does effect the ground speed of the pet - cats and raptor types (mawgax, kwi etc) are fastest, with canoids close behind. I am told that the higher level bunnies have a very poor ground speed, limiting their practical application.

For target statsthese are a couple of the owns I use myself;

CL68 Narglatch -

  • 12399 / 12956 / 12579, Light Armor

  • Kin 54, En 47, Bl 37, H/C 73, A15, S9, El vuln

  • AtkSpd 2.01, TH 0.57, Dam 560-570

  • Crippling Strike, Dizzy specials

CL64 Razor Cat -

  • 12291 / 11897 / 12273, Light Armor

  • Kin 52, En 52, Bl 22, H 71, C 46, El 24, A 9, S 9,no vulns

  • AtkSpd 1.98, TH 0.58, Dam 500-510

  • Blind, Intimidatespecials

You guys are awesome, I figured BE would be the answer for my large pet issue but didn't realize I could replace my pair of lvl35 Maulers with armored bunnies, not that I would, but the same effect in a skin that appeals to me would have me run ning to the bank.
The Narglach is a great example, now that I know what is possible.

Still looking for someone to do some custom work on Starsider...

And I have worked hard to make a CL70 gnort! The lowly gnort may be the most killed creature in the game, but someone will have to work hard to kill my gnort!

That is probably the high light of the latest changes to BE. Instead of maybe improving a small portion of a pet we can really make special orders. Hehe, my Vendor may say no special orders but I do them for my preferred customers and friends. The real challenge at times is getting what some wants. For example before I was a BE my friend as Master worked to make me a level 30 tank. He made a Razor Cat with 9.5k of Ham. 60 Kinetic & Energy. 30 Down the rest with only Acid as a Resist. Basically it was a Grassland Voritor in a Razor Cat Skin. This thing tanks amazing well for it's level even with only 340 damage. When it knocks down a target it puts a smile on my face.

Now back to the special types. It can be hard to zero in to exact stats if someone wants specific numbers. The only reason why my vendor says no special orders is because most want the impossible. When they say Kimo Stats in a Gurrcat they mean wild Kimo and you'd better believe I've been asked to do that. I think the most frustrating is the average new player who wants a level 10 pet with stats that at best could be put in a level 20 to 25 pet. If I wasn't so nice I would ignore them.
