Thread: My BE issue request: Better Creature Spawning

One of my biggest issues with the the game is the spawning system or lack of depending on what time of day you play. I typically get to play after work but due to server loads there are very few random spawns, mostly its just player missions. In the evening I can travel huge distances and not see a single critter, let alone one of the highly desired random spawns that can't be gotten from a mission terminal. Every once in awhile, I can log on for a few minutes before I leave for work, typically right after a server reboot and let me say its great. There are spawns everywhere. I can actually find creatures such as frenzied grauls, barkmite burrower queens, mereks of all kinds, etc. No other proffesion in the game relies on random spawns as much as BE's due and because of that I think it should be on the BE concern list.

I was reading the Dev posts and saw a blurb where Thunderheart mentions that group chat will be fixed when the servers are upgraded. Anybody have any more info about the upgrades? I am just wondering if they could fix some of the spawning issues at the same time.

spawns are odd, I've flown around for hours finding only moderate level creatures to sample.

In doing my act 3 missions I seemd to hit great sample able critters every 100M or so. So spawns are just wacky, some days you can't find one and some days you can't get away from them.

It's not really an issue, it's just the same as resource shiftsas certain soruce dry up from time to time. The fact is that you need to know the regions which regularly spawn animals of a certain type, a good example is the Rancor Plains on Dathomir, the Gaping Spider trench, the Hanadak Hills and the Merek praerie. Once you find hotspots for spawning like those you don't really have to worry about wandering around aimlessly, plus there's always caves and dungeons.

There is a database issue with mission spawns vs. random spawns. Monday night, I kaadu'd from the far western edge of Dathomir to the pirate outpost...somethinglike 4k m, and saw 1 injured kwi and a bolma lair...until I hit the "mission spawn" ring around the outpost. This track took me right through'Rancor Valley',though it was rancorless(I ran across af ew spawns on the way out to the edgo of the map, just not coming back)

Tuesday morning I went west of the Imperial outpost on Dantooine andsampled 8 frenzied grauls, and saw at least 2 mauler lairs and three spawns of regular grauls. I also sampled a spawn of slinking voritor hunters and some vexed voritors. Later that night, that entire area was empty, save for the occasional huurton. I went to Endor around 10pm EST, and in between the smuggler outpost and the marauder cave I saw ONE arachne warrior and a drone companion. That's it. I remember when you could hardly squeeze between deadly spawns on these planets. Now they seem almost deserted.

Changing tactics, I tried traversing between outposts, with far better results. Still not great, but I managed to find three arachne lairs near each other and filled a pack with warrior and webmaster DNA, so it wasn't a total washout.

I would think though, that exploring far and wide on adventure planets should be more rewarding than sticking within a 2000m "spawn radius" around outposts.

This should be fixed. I went a total of 30000m yesterday in two trips across Lok and I saw NOT ONE creature spawn. This is a big problem for a BE, or a CH for that matter. It was between about 6pm and 10pm est, on Starsider.

Yeah. I am to the point that I hardly even bother loggin in anymore in the evenings, espicially if I need dna. Lately I will try to log in for 30-40 minutes before work if the servers are up But useally I will just wait for the week end and play for a few hours in the morning. For me at least, its too big of a waste of time trying to find stuff in the evenings.

It is an issue Tal, even the Devs have said so. The CoA3 spawns only made it worse, but they said they will add servers to the cluster to improve it.

Hey Guys, I have noticed that when I am grouped with other players(not hunting together) that there are more spawns. Often I will group at the mission terminals with other guild members to get higher missions for DNA samples. On the way to the mission waypoint there seam to be more creatures about. Maybe this can be confirmed by others here.
