Ok so i decided to take up BE. Seem to be an interesting profeesion. But when i started dna sampling i couldnt believe my eyes. I fail like all the time. ive been outside of theed for like 6 hrs and i havent lvled not once. i mean if ne 1 plz has ne secrets or something plz let me know. i honestly feel like not playing swg for a few months just becausde of this stupidity. i know all the MBE have done it one way or other. but i think alot of people have more patience than me. so if ne 1 again has ne good places to sample plz let me know. also some1 told me there was some food that gives u more xp or something like that. anything that u might think can help me plz post it. thnx

i just mastered b.e. today. I did the first sampling tree outside coronet. After that i was on dant sampling pikets. Getting the first two skills took a long time, but it wasn't too bad

No secret to it really. If you just recently became a novice BE, you're bound to have a larger amount of failures than someone that's worked their way up the sampling tree. All masters went through that. Unless you keep sampling and getting through the skill boxes, you're not going to raise your DNA sampling mods, which will reduce your failure rates. Just suck it up and keep sampling.

Make sure you are attempting the garden trash... chubas, nunas, etc... 100xp for 2 successes out of 10+ attempts is better than 0xp for 100 failures at higher levels. As you increase in level your skill increases. And yes... it does suck.

Also make sure that your inventory is not full. You don't get an error when your inventory is full...only failures.

For my grind, the fastest sampling exp came from "simple" mobs on Tatooine (Dewbacks, Bantha, Ronto, etc.) for Sampling 1 and 2. Then for Sampling 3, I went to Dant for Piket Plains Walkers.
When I finish sampling 4, I'll post what I did.

I just did dna sampling 1-4 in the last 2 days. The first 2 boxes I ran around the outskirts of Mos Entha on Tatooine. For some reason the little critters are more concentrated here. For the third box I went to the Krayt graveyard which is lush with medium ranged creatures that are perfect for the 3rd box. And the 4th box I just wandered around endor. I was buffed and on brandy the whole time. Brandy just increases your mind atributes, I dont know of any food that helps exp. A good thing to do if your not master ranger is to aquire +25 mask scent clothing. Something I was never able to find for my wookiee, arrrg!. Anyway good luck.

btw I went to dantooine to start my 3rd box with pickets and they gave really good exp but they were too few and far between. The krayt grave is always packed with mobs that gave only slightly less exp (except for giant rock beetles which gave just as much). And there is no lull time. I think its a better place for grinding the 3rd box.

A good way to get beyond the scarcity of pikets is to grab 2 piket missions that are about 200m apart. You can run (ride) back and forth between the 2 lairs, milking, sampling and collecting eggs. The lairs will continuously respawn. I have also found that placing a home near where you are sampling allows you to break aggro easily.
