These toughguys are wonderful for making 1st Gen CL35's......for the Twin combo. Gotta love that 80% Stun resists with allthose Baton-wielding, LAPD-type Fencers out there....lol.They havegreat resists in the main categories too....hehe. Everyone give these guys a look over if you haven't already. Found on Dathomir....all over the place.

I'll let you guess where to put all the experimentation points when combining DNA. Also, bebuffed and have your composite on hand.....they give apretty good fight.

Personally I'd merge the malkloc, surefooted brakaset and mantigrue reaper if I want a good PvP pet since that combination would have no vulnerabilities to take advantage of. Thehigh stun protection from the malkloc would be far better than simply copying a surefoot, infact hybrids are almost always better.

Tal-N.....I would agree with you on the Hybrids being a better PvP pet.....if there is such a thing. For ease of use and for the newer BE's...this combo will get them cranking in right direction. Making "Hybrids" are for much more experienced players such as yourself. It's likely that you do not need the credits and have more time to run all over the galaxy and sample different creatures for a magnificent combine. Kudos to you for making the uber pets....I hope to make those kind of pets someday

Well the reason why I say surefoot brackasets aren't that fantastic for PvP is because they are vulnerable to electricity and acid. So that means all fo the BH with their LLC will nail them very quickly and the fact is that acid weapons are available for every ranged profession and are actually quite commonly used such as with the DX2. You also need to think about the special attacks if you making direct copies for a PvP pet,. This one already is focussed more towards being a melee PvP pet and at CL46 its ina bit of a no-mans land as a master doesn't get enough power from it and someone wanting a 35-twin combo cant use it either.

One of the really nice PvP style species you can copy which is around CL40 is the crazed gurk destroyer, they're CL43, have 11k of HAM, 30% to everything and have knockdown and intimidation. Remebering of course that intimidation lowers the melee damage caused by the enemy by 50% means that it acts like armor resulting in this species being better than the surefoot as its kinetic protection once intimidation hits is equal to 65% which is higher than you would get with the surefoot except for the stun protection however it makes up for that by having all around protection. The Gurk also has a higher HAM. A master bioengineer could actually make a copy for these for around CL35 so others should take note of this species to for some nice and easy 35-twin clone templates.

I have always wondered what effect Intimidation had on things....I have been playing since October of last year and just now I am learning this. Thanks Tal-N. I appreciate your input. I take it this Gurk can be found on Lok?

How important do you consider light armor to be though? You can't get armor in these combinations.

For PvP adding armor is a bit redundent if it's around CL35 because ideally for PvP you want good all around protection. So if you add armor then you need to skip all special protections as even adding around 30% to everything would start pushing the CL around 50. All things considered for PvP around CL35 you need to focus on specials and high HAM more than anything else as most attacks are at least AP1 anyway. If you want to cover the more common PvP damage types then you might want to try barkmite burrowers and work the generations down however ultimately there are very few natural PvP species around that have it all.

The Hilltop Gurreck has 25% res across the board, 50% in kinetic and 65% in energy (hm, can that be right?). At CL 41 it might be a good candidate for a PvP pet. Ive never tried, so I dont know for sure, but it looks good on paper.

"then you need to skip all special protections as even adding around 30% to everything would start pushing the CL around 50."

See, Tal-N, this is the type of stuff I was referring to in my Farewell. Where did you get this notion from? You can create pets with good resists across the board and light armor and then use generational cloning to bring the CL down to 35. Sure, the resists do contribute to the CL and you'll have to sacrifice something, but the blanket statement you make here will mislead a lot of folks about what is possible.

In my opinion, light armor is ESSENTIAL to have in any useful pet over CL19. The difference in damage absorbed is dramatic as anyone who understands the armor forumla posted in the Armorsmith FAQ can tell you. As a MCH I'd much rather have 23/23/24 with light armor and 20% less HAM than no armor and higher HAM. No brainer there.
