When I was MBE I was also a CH, the combo was ok, especially when CH's were overpowered, but sampling was alot easier then too. With just the explore line mask scent mods and some mask scent clothing, I could easily sneak up on rancors, though prone, and sample DNA. Now I can hardly sneak up on CL65 critters with the same mask scent ability.

So my question is....


Are any of you MBE's also Master Rangers? Or at least have the ranger tree that includes mask scent mods?

If so, do the camo kits make any difference or are they a useless feature? I am currently MBE MCH, but dont really plan on seeing much Combat as a MCH I have no quams about dropping/respeccing it if Ranger will make MBE life a great deal easier and more efficient, I dont have hours upon hours to play this game anymore. MCH is just for the fun of using my own clones and training them for people.


So what, in your opinions, is a better compliment to MBE for someone in my position? Master Ranger or MCH?

You dont need to be a ranger any more to apply camo kits that rangers make. Which would help you to avoid aggro nicely.

Well I understand that but what I really want to know is if a BE can tell me how useful they have found Ranger as a complement to MBE. I really want to complement the MBE profession but dont think MCH is a suitable one.

Seems to me like mask scent breaking is tied to the difference in your levels. So I opted to get some BH with MCH and give me level 62. This has helped me a bit in sneaking up on creatures. Also, getting a CL80 person to group with makes it easy if you can find one around willing to group. I think pets are a decent add in PvE now, so it'd be a shame to not use the fewest skill points to pick it up.
