seeds: best bet is to grab a survey tool (flora, in this case). open 'er up, and scroll down. seeds are a flora food category, and the various types available shift.

DNA sampling? this is a little more tricky. if you're novice BioE, start low. VERY low. CL2 is a challenge at nBioE. as you gain xp (and train the skills), you can start aiming higher. for xp purposes, I recommend:

novice: CL2
DNA1: CL18-22
DNA2 (and up): CL34-36

if you're constantly failing, drop the CL of the sample donors... and check your inventory: you will ALWAYS fail with a full inventory.
