I would also like to know what a novice BE can make that is cheap to produce yet still yeilds a decent amount of xp. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to send in game /tells or emails to Jeslick StarSplinter.

Depends on your goal. If you're grinding to get master and will then dump it, just grind the tissue components. Basic ones use milk, meat, and flora. Nothing's real cheap today but you can buy low quality stuff for grinding. Meat will probably be the hangup if you don't get it yourself.

Personally, I'm at 2-0-3-2 since I don't have much interest in grinding tissues. I like making pets and harvesting DNA. If it moves, I'll sample it assuming it doesn't kill me first. To me, there's a lot of fun in going to Dant or Dath and seeing what you can sample and dealing with a few that want to sample you, lol.

I'm going to assume you mean grinding materials? Meat, meat, and more meat. <smirk> But really, yes you will need a very large quantity of meat, approximately 150k of it if you want a number. This is not counting failures or combines for pets, just Micronutrient Suppliments. You will also need over double that in flora. I recommend cereals, they are easy to get and versatile.

As for your second question... they took away Micronutrient Suppliments from Novice and put them into Tissue I, and all the tissues at novice aren't really worth it. If I were you, I would clear my inventory and sample until it was full in the newbie area around any city. Then combine samples to make templates and put the templates into pets in practice mode. This will get you both DNA Sampling experience and crafting experience. From there, get Tissues I and make Micronutrient Suppliments... with a macro, lest your sanity slip away.

i know that my orignal post might have come off as if i was going to grind and drop BE. This is not the case. I am a master scout right now and would like to know what materials i should start gathering for BE. It is my dream to make the biggest scariest pets imaginable Thanks for the advice so far. Please keep it coming

Well, if you're not grinding, then you don't need as much. The biggie is DNA. I just take a couple of hours and pick a planet, travel around and sample anything/everything. Along the way, you can pick up some milk.

Since you need a minimum of 5 DNA samples per critter (not counting failures), empty your inventory and backpack and go out and get 50+ samples. Bring Valerian brandy for your mind. Start on a planet like Naboo where you can get a decent run of low and mid level stuff to sample. The higher the CL, the more XP you can get.

Far as resources from the scout side, you just need some high quality meat. I run a set of maybe 4-6 group missions and harvest enough for probably two DNA runs; don't really pay close attention but never buy meat. You'll also need flora of some kind, but it's still pretty cheap for decent quality.

If you're really wanting to learn the craft, don't run practice mode on crafting genetics/pets. You'll never really know how you did and won't get a feel for what works. Just destroy them or sell them for a couple of K on the bazaar to CHs who will use them for training XP. Actually, I've made decentmoney selling junkers and mid-level CH stuff going up the tree. If something came out decent, I give it to friends who are real happy to trade it for a K or two of Flora.
