Hi everyone
I am a Bounty Hunter on Ahazi, which is fun, but I had a brief stint with CH and it left me wanting more
However, I don't want to leave BH since it's fairly tough to raise (not as tough as a lot of profs, mind you), and I was considering making a new character on a different server to play around with when my friends weren't on.
At any rate, I've been reading the BE forum and it sounds like a fun profession! I was thinking Master Bio-Engineer/Master Creature Handler/Teras Kasi 4-0-0-0 (meditate is overpowered and fun!) The only problem is, I'm not really sure what to go for first. It's been a while since I've had to start from scratch, and the only way I was able to get Bounty Hunter up as effectively as I did (mastered scout and marksman in just under 2 days) was with the fighting power of Teras Kasi to be able to get scouting experience and money to buy good armor and whatnot. But in this setup, Teras Kasi is but an afterthought, and can easily be exchanged for something else. Bio-Engineer and Creature Handler are irreplaceable though!
Aside from Combat Medic, I haven't played a non-combat profession! Any ideas on how to approach this, from a beginner's perspective? I can't just grind my way through the crafting line in medic with no cash, and to get scout I'll need to be an effective fighter. That power is supposed to come from Creature Handler, which I won't have without scout! Arrgh... Any thoughts as to what my approach should be? I have considered raising scout up along with Unarmed (like I did when I was going for Commando) but I'm not even sure if I will be a Teras Kasi.
I apologize to anyone who felt that this subject was innapropriate for the Bio-Engineer forum!
Thank you for reading this, even if you don't respond!

Personally, I'd go for the combat side first.
That way you'll have an income to support the other things you want to do.
Once you get up inthe combat classa bit, take Scout so you can train/raise MS while out hunting (it'll go up pretty quick if you hunt decent sized critters)and collect meat (you'll need a lot of meat for when you get around to doing BE).
Once you've stockpiled plenty of meat, buy some cerial, take BE, go out and sample a ton of Rills, Wortts or other low level animal untill you fill your bag up, then start making pets.
Once your bag is full of pet deeds, take CH and train every single one and release them. Rinse, repeat.
This way you have a bit of variety in what you do, and you'd be surprised how quickly everything can go up.

Thanks Meroc! Then I have one more question: Does Teras Kasi complement CH/BE enough to warrent taking it?

Not really, TKM doesn't have much needfor pets at the moment (they are a very strong fighting class in small fights....if the fights a long one then theytend torun out of mind a lot), but the combat revamp may change that. A few "CH revamps" back they changed the code so things will attack you more if your close to them, so you'll tank more for the petsas a TKM rather than the other way around.
If your really keen on TKM/MBE, and considering the current system, I'd go something like TKM/MBE/Medic 4/3/4/4. One of the toughest templates in the game at the moment is the TKM/Doc, but it only leaves 18SP's to take other stuff, so crafting is fairly limited (with the TKM/Doc template). With good medic skills and some buffs/food/spice, I'd expect TKM/MBE/Medic to do well though.
If you're more interested in MBE/MCH I'd go somethingsimilar tomy template, which is MBE/MCH/Pistoleer 0/0/3/1 (though I may change that to 0/0/4/0 as Fan Shot is really nice and KD doesn't do a lot against creatures, which are my usual fighting target), though any of the ranged classeswork Ok as your pet will do all the tanking.
I decided on Pistoleer as the damage compliments the pets (mostly health damage) and your "ideal damage" range is within pet heal range, so they tend to have some synergy there.
Having said all that, I do know a few TKM/CHers and they seem to do fine, so if you really want togo that way, don't worry that it's useless or anything
)
Hope that helps out a bit?

Thanks for the continued advice! ![]()
I might go Pistoleer, that would be pretty cool! But you gotta admit, the Teras Kasi meditate line is REALLY awesome ![]()
