This question is for a friend....where is the best spot to unleash an afk DNA macro?

Rancor central, near the sarlacc on Danthomir (there is a PoI waypoint for it), as close to the sarlacc pit as you can get.

LOL!

Seriously, outsdide any city onTatooine or Naboo.

He will most likely die eventually if he's wandering aimlessly (the macro should include an "anchoring" pet to avoid this). I remember when I ran my first macro attempt, I started off outside Mos Eisley and when I checked in a few hours later I was near Mos Entha (still alive too)!

I dont know much about macros aside from the crafting one, but here's the problem I see with trying to afk sample, and I'm pretty sure was mentioned in the FAQ. Your inventory will fill up very quickly. I myself have filled a 50 open slot inventory and a 50 slot backpack with sampled in around a half hour. So unless you've figured out how to AFK craft the templates away or AFK delete items from your inventory, it won't work for very long.

I don't think think this is going to work. But if you were going to try this it would have to be outside a city on a noob planet (Corellia) sampling trash (durnis, chubas, etc). From the previous post, if it does work - you will definitely run into inventory problems.

seriously, I think using an AFK DNA macro is either going to get you 1) a huge pouch full of trash DNA, or 2) a popup asking if you'd like to be cloned at the closest cloning facility.

I have two words for you. Mind buffs. I'm guessing you're probably wanting to walk away because you're waiting for your Mind to come back up. Check with your favorite Chef or Smuggler. And buy by the crate.

One of the earlier posters is correct.

Evidently, some kind of 100% fail code is triggered when our inventory is full. You will need some kind of outside program to help you dispose of dna by crafting templates in practice mode.

That being said there is an article in RPG expert that demonstrates a good afk dna sampling macro, complete with anchored pet and dna crafting.

If your looking for a newbie zone, I suggest someplace no one hardly ever visits unless they have to like Rori or Talus.

Do you want 50 useless yard trash dna or to die after a couple of samplings? Seriously, I'll be anxious to hear how this works, I can't imagine you can get much useful dna this way.

Personally, I'm not sure why anyone really thinks this is necessary. Maybe it's just because I had the thousands of pets I ran through the tame/train/release cycle on my way to MCH to put things in perspective, but I found going up a single DNA sample tree to be quick, easy and kinda fun.
