Giant Fynok (force strike)

Climson Blurg Raptor (6.5 % hit ratio)

Blood Frenzied Boar Wolf (too much to list)

I have several samples of Bood Frenzied Boar Wolf DNA. Nice stuff.

I havent sampled the other stuff yet.

I tried to stick a Blurgg Raptor in the behind yesterday 4 times.. he wasn't having anything to do with my needle. Then I checked and figured out why. Level 141. Doh. LOL

Blood Frenzied Boar Wolf

Yup, nice enough DNA.

All 3 - the blood frienzied boar wolf has a very full resist profile, looks good for higher level pets. The Giant fynock was dissappointing, low stats and specials that do not carry through. Crimson Blurgs are average, Blurg Raptor is way above our level for sampling (Cl 140 or 145 I think, and VERY agressive as well even if it were possible to sample). I think you may have mixed the two names, though the blurg raptor has always appeared in a reddish skin when I have seen it so it would be an easy mistake to make.

ahh.. there is a pet level cap for sampling.. nice to know! Is it a specific number like 75 or 100 or a range. I don't even have DNA Sample III yet so I can see why I spent 3 hours trying to get the Boar Wolfe samples to no avail. I assume not only the quality of samples increases but the odds of getting a sample do as well upon skill promotion??

I did manage to get a nice variety of Gurreck samples (hilltop and hilltop hunter) however I've heard that there is a 40% cap on kinetic resists? (they have 50%).

Yes I did mix the names up on the blurgs. I was in a small group went we went toe to toe with one of these and upon examination I realized we were essentially fighting a HUGE mob packed into a smallpackage. I was finishing Ranger and needed bone and it yeilded 665 bone! for 6000 scouting experience.

Anyway.. thanks for the info!

Yes, there is a sampling cap. I think it's CL75, but to be certain, check the stickies at the top of the forum.

Kinda on/off topic, last night, I made a mother-load haul of Mantrigue Reaper DNA. My Ranger friend and I went to Endor for some relaxation ( this is the trip where I attempted to stick the Blurgg Raptor).. anyway.. I wound up with 27 samples of Reaper DNA, 3 samples of Arachne Warrior DNA and 6 samples od Arachne Warrior DNA.

I am becoming kinda partial to the strong disease/poison critters.

I need to go gather some Bark Mite Burrower sampes to pump up the kinetic resist on the new pets-to-be.

For the Mantigrues, head to the northern "plain", you will find a lot of one-bird nests there to get reaper and screecher DNA.

For the BMB's, go south from the smuggler starport, and follow the upper part of the ridge of mountains there, and you will find bark mite lairs, as well as some of the BF Boar wolves, etc.

I have found several BMB's NW of the Smuggler's outpost as well. Just as the really tall mountains begin in the NW corner.

After a couple of trips with my ranger G/F, I am still seriously conetmplating Ranger as Evyl's second elite profession. For one thing, when my mask scent gets detected, I ahve to wait 30+ seconds before reapplication. She waits 8 seconds. And she isn;t master yet.

She can get a lot closer to aggroing critters than I can. So, along with the obvious benefits of being about to track, the secondary benefits are also really nice.

Eh, I dunno. The exceptional thing about the blood frenzied boar wolf is that it has about the highest damage of anything at its CL (I was actually trying to make use of this dna during the "non-ch pet with highest damage" challenge, hehe). But I haven't really found a good use for it making "real pets". It's resists are too low to be useful as a "resists donor", and not enough vulnerabilities to be a "vuln donor", and with only one workable special it really isn't a candidate for use in slot 5, so to me it's completely worthless dna. Sorry, I tend to be blunt about such things, lol.

The kinetic and energy cap is 60%. DNA with more than that will still help weight the template, so it is not entirely worthless. Prowling gurrecks and hilltop hunters have some great resistances if you are not concerned about armor.

The DNA database is not complete, but I would like to point people to swgcreatures (link in my sig) if you are curious about something's stats -- resistances, DNA or other. It is a great resource for getting ideas on what to sample.
