Bear with me on this one gang...

After having been down the paths of MCH/MBE, I honestly believe that in order to make us more useful as players without having to resort to exploits, I offer the following suggestions:

1) More interaction with various classes, thereby giving them a boost as well as us. A BE can make you a pet, give you some color choices, but if you want further color changes, you'll have to go to an Image Designer. Food is already being provided by chefs, but perhaps they can make the equivalent of "Power-ups" where a pet gets ranged attack for a few minutes, or bonus resistances for a limited time. CH's can make a pet mountable, but I think you should be able to get saddles made by a tailor or perhaps an armorsmith, perhaps with the ability to have some storage capacity or armor capabilities?

The big one I have to suggest may border on heresy to many of you: The only way to make pets more valuable to us all is to do away with the concept of vitality as far as nickel and diming: Pets should be limited in the number of times that they drop. Perhaps it would better if BE's made Pet Buffs and Pet Rez kits, rather than Vitality packs. But like the Jedi originally were planned, three deaths and das ist alles (that's it). The reasoning behind this? In my lifetime, I valued every pet that I had, but their time had to come eventually. Pets are living things- they grow old and die. Perhaps in the grand scheme of things this might add another more subtle level of "realism" to this game.

And to give Rangers a boost, who better to bring your dead pet to to get it stuffed and mounted for your house? Give'em Taxidermy, for the luvva Darth! This rounds out a lot of classes in interacting with creature handlers/makers.

Agree or disagree, I wanted to make y'all think about it..and not just because I just lost a fish

I swear that BE's must have a Nerf Crying skill tree.

I think you would eliminate your CH pet business this way. Currently, the only CH's that are not newbs or BE's, stay because they want to keep their favorite pets. If they are going to perma die most would just give it up entirely. You want to increase you business? Fight to get CH's the ability to store pets outside his datapad. This way he would not be faced with having to destroy one pet to make room for a new one. It would also make them more willing to train your pets.

A three death and that's all would destroy your already slow critter market. No creature handler is going to spend a gob of money on an animal knowing three good wacks and its gone. Animals already die so fast in PvP. I have almost no combat skills. I rely on my animals as my weapons. If something aggros on me I'm going to be more worried about my pets dying than me dying. In that sense I wouldn't call my pets at all. Then you might as well ask why have them in the first place?

I like the animal armor thing a lot. I've heard it mentioned a number of times before. Something needs to be done to help animals in PvP. Animals with light armor, high HAM,and nice resists go down faster than a queen on prom night during a PvP fight. One guy was crying nerf critter handler because an animal lasted longer than a minute in PvP. They thought an exploit was being used. If people expect animals to die thatquickly in PvP thenagain I'd ask why have them?

I like the saddle storage capability as well. We can't have enough ways to store DNA.

Not necessarily, Spaz...

What I'm talking about here is the fact that a pet can last waaaaay longer than any weapon on the market. This kind of limitation would not just affect BE creatures, however. ALL pets. This means that people wanting pets are going to be either demanding them more frequently or taking better care of them. It's one thing for us as players to clone constantly, but pets? I don't think so. Even if we maintained a vitality pack a la' a weapon/armor repair kit, pets should still have a finite time of existence.

I also wanted to bump this one again, since Rangers are due for a boost soon...I think the taxidermy idea is cool, if nothing else for the fact that NON-BE pets could be made into "furniture"..this means we could put birdies in the cages, and other fun house decor things (a flock of mynocks overhead, anyone?)

Just my 2 credits...

No no no, we BE's make no claim to him, it's the CH in him that's responsible for these ideas, lol.

If MCH did as much damage as someone with a weapon then by all means have them die over time from use like a weapon but right now all we can do is tank. we dont even do that well in pvp we are almost useless
