Thread: Fun with sampling...

I recently took up BE, and because my skill point distribution will eventually force me to give up my already few combat skills as I advance up BE, I decided to go with DNA sampling first.

So here I am, sampling away at garbage creatures outside Theed, and having a grand old time (gah!), when along come some other players and start blasting the hell out of all the creatures.

Fine, I think, they have just as much right to them as I do, of course... but then one guy comes up and starts following me around. He *must* see that this critter I'm following keeps turning unattackable for a short period, then back to attackable. After my third attempt, he blasts the thing right as it becomes attackable again.

That just seemed incredibly rude to me. Not only could he see that I was using the creature (even if he didn't know what I was doing), he purposely times it so he can kill it right out from under me. There were plenty of other creatures around he could have killed, so why he felt the need to steal the one I was using, I have no idea.

This actually happened a few times.

Oh well. I was ecstatic when I finally finished that tree. The good side, I guess, is now I can kill some stuff I never had a chance against before simply by poking it with a needle, and hoping it doesn't get mad.

Now to find a way to amass enough meat to finish the other trees. Fun fun!

Welcome to the world of jerk behavior. It is prevelant in games like this and has been for a long time. Unfortuantly there seems to be little that one can do excepting try to avoid it. Even then it is not always possible. I have tried ignoring it, I have tried screaming and cussing at the offender to the point that *I* get reported so that I can actually get some sort of responce to the situation... because just reporting the little jerk never draws much attention. Nothing will ever get rid of this kind of irritating vermin..... short of sterialization so they cannot breed any further.

Ahhh, At least you didn't let the instance ruin your evening of gaming. Hopefully the little bugger will get his in the end!

A tip for you: Bolle Bols, Faambas and such don't kill you for failing to milk them, they just run away. Faambas and Bolle Bols can be milked. Milk counts as creature food for purposes of grinding. You can gather a lot of milk quite easily and with no relative danger, so even without combat skills you can provide the grinding material needed.

Thanks for the info. I already got to Field Scientist, but it's good info for when I start needing milk for making tissues.

Oh, as a side note, about 30 minutes after that incident above occurred, the same guy went running by me screaming "help me" as he was being swarmed by 3 or 4 spineflaps. I felt satisfied as I simply ignored him as they proceeded to incap him, though I kind of felt guilty afterwards.
