Okay so i am gonna get BE today...but i have no idea how to get dna, and what resources and dna i should use to get to the first levels. My goal in BE is to master it, but i was wondering what trees i should master first. I am looking to get some good epts once i get good at the skill...So my questions are, what stuff do you need to start out, and what should be your first steps to getting BE xp? I knew this was going to be your question before I openned the thread.

With regards to your other questions I guess I'd have to ask what your motives are. The tactics to mastering the profession will be dictated by your motives. Here is what I mean by that;

A blue glowy cube told me to master BE - solution; get as much meat and flora as you can. Disregard quality just buy the cheap stuff and get a lot of it. Get 3 food and chem crafting tools. Doesn't matter the quality of these either. Now grind out micro nutrient supplements over and over in practice modeuntil your mind goes numb. Then do it some more. For the DNA sampling I would recommend going to Lok or Yavin 4. Anywhere uber critters are in close proximaty to a clone booth. Again we don't care about quality, only the xp points. Leave everything you own at home because you WILL die and your inventory will take decay damage. Buy muon gold to boost your mind. Mask scentand go out and sample every critter you run across. Sample sample sample till you can't sample no more. Make templates in practice mode to clear up your inventory. The goal here is points not product. When you wake up from your stupor you'll be a master BE.

I want to be the best darn BE I can be - solution; get the sample DNA thing out of the way. I still recommend sampling critters in your underwear whilehigh on muon gold. You can knock this out in no time. You'll notice as you move up the DNA tree the sample quality will improve and you'll get more samples from each critter. You can still grind out micro nutrient but you miss the subtleties of tissues this way. Ingredients and quality are an issue just as they are with every crafting profession. To make quality animals I'd direct you to a sticky thread at the top of this forum. Its refers to information from a fallen master. Its a great guide. There is also a faq thread that will help.

If you want to have fun and avoid the heartache I'd recommendnot to grindexcept to get those last few thousand points in a box you really want. And if you can I'd recommend you play an alternate character at the same time. You'll enjoy the game longer. Eventually you may find yourself as frustrated as a lot of us have become. As you play you'll discover the many problems a lot of these threads address. Hopefully by the time you reach that point SOE will have things working.
