Thread: skin determine aggressiveness?
What have you all found?
Does the skin determine aggressiveness for non CH pets?
Is it possible to clone-out the aggressive nature and still keep high HAM?
Skin Sets agressiveness...
I think it was too difficult to Take out of the Code.

I think it's more of a problem with the code behind the CH skill tree, not the clones we are making. I went back and read TH's posts about the creature handler changes. The ability to tame or call and animal is supposed to be based on the one overall factor - the CL level. Before you used to have to progress up the training & taming branch at the same time to be able call higher and higher level creatures.
My tailor with 1-1-1-0 was not able to tame a level 12 angler. However, someone else tamed it and traded it to her and she can call it just fine. In the old system, if you couldn't tame it, you couldn't call it.
What I have noticed is once I got 2-1-1-1 with my CH, I am able to tame aggressive clones no problem. Last night I tamed a narglatch skin of CL 34 even though I can only call adults of up to level 24. It seems to me that the aggressiveness problem is "solved" by having just taming 2. That doesn't help the non-CH folks though.
I guess I can test two things.. can I tame a junk DNA kimo of level 40 just having 2-1-2-1? Under the old system the level of the kimogilia would require a high "taming viscious animals" skill. If I can tame one, I'd say that once you have any level of that skill, it's turned on like a switch and level doesn't matter. The second thing I can try is passing a tamed low-level viscious skin to a non-CH. My tailor without any viscious skill was able to call a tamed one, it would seem to me a non-CH should be able to also.
I'll go back later today and find that section in TH's post that deals with this. Maybe I'm reading it wrong. ![]()

Even easier test for you, make vesp and/or dune lizards. They are considered aggressive pets for some reason. I was able to tame a low level deed (cl9) with my ch at 1/2/0/1. However, I couldn't give it to a non-ch person for them to use.
Skin determines aggressive and there's no way but to know ahead of time that the skin is aggr unless you just know. Nothing shows up on the deed or datapad schematic.
So it makes me think that the skin you choose sets the "vicious" tag or not.
so a BE cannot craft a non aggressive angler for a non CH correct?

I made a 4k HAM medium poison level 9 angler that I thought I could use. I hope it's not an aggressive type so I can't use it. **edit** thing took me forever. I'll have to look up what creature skins are aggro so I don't make that mistake again.
I started adding aggresive tags to my pet list - using info from www.swgcreatures.com. Some aren't marked that may be - they were unknowns on the site. Unfortunately, yes, Anglers are aggressive.

I wonder if a non-CH with the taming wild/vicious creatures clothing bonus would help. I have a pet wookie that is CH 1/4/4/4 and a BEthat can not call an old grual maular but when he puts is taming clothes on he can. So the bonus does work and does help. This may be the work around for non CHs to have access to all the skins. Got Milk?
Doubt it - bio bonuses don't GIVE you any skill - they just make the ones you have better. A bio bonus of any type isn't gonna help any character that starts with 0 in a skill.
Thanks you all for the info.
Maybe I have missed it, but has anyone started a Skins thread to list non-Ch skins?
