Thread: Master BE/Master CH, what combat skills do you compliment your CH/BE skills with?

Seeing as a good ammount of our resources come from meat, being able to defend ourselves and take down big game is somewhat important, but not paramount. Meat can come from even the lowly chuba now afterall...

However, what would be a good combination for a master CH/BE? I'm thinking 0/4/0/3 marksman

0/0/0/1 pistoleer

Though with master CH, if specials worked, a knockdown might not be as important if you have a good combo pet team.

Why I ask this is, currently I am a 0/0/0/2 BH, and use my LLC when a monster aggroes me (I don't like the idea of my armor decaying because I can't defend myself against a CL 32 picket)

However, is there a trick using simple pistol/or other skills, that can wipe out the hate of a creature at a nest if it aggroes me? I wouldn't have to kill it, if I sample it to death and let my bio-rancors eat the rest... warningshot I think works admirably for chasing off most, but not all, monsters. However, they keep their hate.

I dunno, I just like the idea of being able to make and tame and train my pets transfer before selling them.

I personally am going MBE/MCH with a a little TK. You have the skill points for one line of TK or three boxes in a line and the first in a second. personally going off the recommendation a TKM friend of mine im going up the meditation line for power Boost, as well as getting survival 1 in scout so i can forage for bait to fish with.

forage is great because you can feed your pets with it, without having to have artisan to make travel biscuits

forage is awesome

My personal combination of skills is Master CH / Master BE / Sniper (Rifleman 4-0-0-0) and I have jsut enough skill point left for Wilderness Survival II which gets me the forage skill to find food to feed my pets. I have 0 skill points left.

I chose Rifleman becasue I am a wookie and I am going to die in 2 hits from a CL50+ creatuer anyway so the 2.5 melee damage modifier doesn;t affect me much sicne I still die in 2 hits pretty with or without the damage modifier. The Rifle allows me to get far enough out of range to avoid aggro and still dish out massive damage with my T21 or Laser Rifle. I keep a pair fo CL35 pets with me when sampling and I have a macro that I keep my finger on the buttom for that calls in both pets and starts self heals. Usually the pets acquite aggro fast enough to protect me. Sometimes I get into trouble with packs of aggro creatures that assist but even then I can usualy get my pets to take aggro on each one while running around in circles. Once I am aggro free I kneel down at 50m and put a mind bleed on each target then proceed to blast away with head shot. It works quite well. I can take down whole lairs of Rancors this way when I get sample aggro.

I do MCH, MBE, and pistoleer 0040

i find that fan shot helps a bit with creatures that group assist

i have master CH/BE, can forage, and have tka 2/1/0/0. this gets me powerboost, knockdown, and melee damage mitigation (good to have incase of aggro.)

powerboost really helps. getting +500 to mind is especially good for sampling dna.

well, this is a bit off topic as I am not a CH, but I just wanted to let everyone know how crazy I am.

FInal Template:

Master Medic

Master Doctor

Master BE

Scout 4041

I am human so I can use a republic blaster, but will not likely hit anything with it. I will still be able to kill chubbas with it though. I get most of my meat from friends with whom I go hunting. Even at novice doc (have not got master yet) I am still a great help in a party, and everyone harvests, so the meat stacks up pretty fast. I can gather DNA, and the survival lets me forage for bait, so I can get my own fish, which I actually enjoy even though it is a time sink.

WTS,

At TKA 2/1/0/0 how is the damage dished out with a nice set of VK's or even without them? I would love to pick up some TKA over my current Pistoleer skills, but need more feedback before I dump it. Thanks.

What does a BE need combat skills for? I don't have a single one.

Had to do something with my left over skill points... the very few that I had.

The pistoleer template i use allows me to gather meat effectively by myself (just using a creature really really sucks and is slower than all get out), allows me to dabble in the GCW as a combatant, gives me some protection from agro when I get it from sampling.

But most importantly... shooting a gun is just alot of fun

I complement my BE/Doc skills with Commando and Ranger skills.... Have a friend that is a commando, and one that is a ranger

yes... you either go fully unarmed or you use a vibroknuckler. with a good VK, you can do very good damage using unarmedhit2 (novice tka skill). you also have unarmedknockdown1. then you have your pet BDQ or whatever apply the dizzy.

i save lots of money not having to find a doctor for buffs. i just use breath of heaven (chef item) and powerboost. i throw in muon if my mind gets low.

also.... most people have republic blaster certification without even novice marksman. i pull that out every now and then to shoot stuff that has area bleeds. if you've ever gotten mutated rancors to aggro on each other, you can shoot them each once, and get loot rights to them when they finally kill each other. 300+ meat per rancor. :-)

Thanks for the info WTS!

Just need to bite the bullet I guess. I will surely miss my (/armor;/threatenshot;/peace) escape macro though without any marksman skills.
