Thread: Samples from Lairs

Sorry if this is a noobish question, but I couldn't find the answer on the forums and the recipe site I have was written pre-patch I believe, so I am curious if the items looted from lairs(besides eggs, which I know are usable) are meant for chefs? Things like a 'jar of butterflies.' When I do an examination it states that they could probably be used by an artisan, but I have no idea which field.

So, just the down and dirty... do chefs use these? And if now, who does?

Thanks in advance...

Novice Artisans use them to make a "Creature Habitat," which does nothing other than produce a lame particle effect when activated. There's no market for 'em, so don't bother.

Hee hee... crud.

I have actually sold several dozen on the bazaar for around 150cr each, but was thinking that since I am going to go TKA/Chef(I know someone that can give me all the master doc buffs I need) maybe I would save them, but I guess not.

So, I guess eggs are the only thing valuable from a lair? They currently don't drop milk? At least I have been hoarding the eggs...

Here again to disagree.

Not about the use of creature samples, but the 'uselessness' of them.

Sure they don't DO anything. But you can be **edit** sure any event planning company on our game, (we have them, the wedding chapel, parties, whatever) will sometimes use creature samples to make thier event even more extravagant.

Now, it's not the be-all-end-all of items. It's not awesome XP to craft them. Yea, it's stupid and frilly.

But hey, I like stupid and frilly when it comes down to party time. And so do countless numbers of other folks.

No argument there, Unitarius. I was actually more looking to see if they would be an asset to my food preparation, which it appears they won't be :\

I have no qualms about collecting them and giving them to local artisans or any party planners though. Thanks for the input, I will have to ask around my server and see who needs them.

The "Samples of Living Creatures" you get from lairs have nothing to do with Bio Engineering. They are for Artisans to make "Creature Habitats". When you use the Habitat, it releases the creatures and you get a particle effect show... like Butterflies flying around you. Only lasts a few seconds.

Think of them as really weird fireworks....
