After having tried to sample mutant rancors in a cave for several days with out success. I have to assume im doing something wrong. I even stood right next to one masked, Gees there very hard to get close to, and tried to sample for a entire muon gold cycle with out success. a few days ago I sampled a aracne Queen thing on endor. had some widowers with it. one sample and it dies. Why on earth cant I sample a mutant rancor.

Also as I see others complaining about mask not working verry well, I would have to agree. but then again I see other Contributers on this forum say they dont have a problem?

Perhaps those that know how to approach a bull rancor reliabley for sampleing would like to inlighten the rest of us.???

in the mutants racors case I have ordered my 3 pets to stay well back masked and tried crawling up to it. In most cases this results in me being detected and attacked well short of sampling range. on one day I ended up killing the intire cave system off because of this. If I didnt know any better Id say the cl of Mutent rancors is higher then 75, but all the critter databases iv seen have them as CL 75.

So Id welcome any advice, stratiges and methods for successful stalking and sampling of critters

I have a +16 shirt to camo/scent I believe that gives me +31/+86. total score

Get clothes made with Masksent tissue. Be fully decked out.. being a Master BE making the tissue is easy just gotta find a master tailor to customize stuff for you. I belive you can have 4 items with +17 to mask scent each for a total of +68.. should break rarely.

However i found recently that in a cave maskscent is buggered.. try for ouside caves.

The skill mod tops out at +25 though, so don't bother trying to go higher than that =)

A)mask not working to good in caves

B)Most if not all the Mutants are near containers, wich have a auto trip on a set range. masked or not.

C)Sampling is not working properly in there

Think ill go look for ones out side

What's a "truble" and what are the stats on it? Does it have armor and good resists? I'd like to sample one if so.

Just kidding around. I know there's no edit button and that, but c'mon now "u" isn't a bit like "o" or even a reasonable typo.
