Thread: A thought on Experimentation
I had an interesting thought today while I was making creatures, or more specifically when I was making the templates, since thats when the experimentation takes place. My thought is, why cant we use our experimentation points to either add to a slot, or subtract from it. For example we use 2 points to raise physique, and the lower aggression by three points. This would give us many more options, and help us to hit specific CL's.
Every Other Crafting Profession wants their stats maxed on whatever they make. Weaponsmiths dont have to worry about making a gun too powerful for a marksman to use. Armorsmiths need to experiment as much as possible to make sure that everyone can use their stuff (cept Wookies. sorry wookies) But we on the other hand are ususally trying to hit a specific level, whether it be 10 or 70, so that our clientel can use our creatures the most effectively.
I think that being able to add and subtract in the experimentation phase would ad even more depth to our Proffesion. Im not suggesting that the points we subtract go into our pool of points. We still have 10 points to work with, this would just give us more options on how to work with them.
Whats everybody else think?
I really like this idea. I find myself hitting cl 11-13 then sampling those and combining 3 be dna 1 high level dna and one lower level dna to hit cl9/10 with good stats.
I often loose completely what I want in the way of specials but I can hit under cl10 consistently in second generation dna.
