Althought we're not a combat class the CB will affect us in a big way.
Essentially after the CB everything is going to be a lot harder, armour will be significantly less powerful as will buffs and possibly even food.
How many of us rely on Doc buffs, 70+% Kinetic armour and big mind food and drink to get high level samples?

If all these things are made weaker to make combat more challenging and difficult then where does that leave us? Particularly in cases where incap now means instant death.

With buffs at 200% of your natural HAM and armour significantly lowered in power then without defenses we're not going to last long out in the wilderness.

Ive never used buffs or armour sampling Mutant Rancor's to be honest. So that aspect wont really effect me.

What i am looking forward to is the combat rebalance bringing creatures back up to where they should be, and CH maybe more common, and therefore our sales of creatures increasing .

What i would like tho is a lot more tailor tissue's as with armour being nerfed, some may now like to wear clothing as an alternative to armour. Would be nice if there was more selection, like ranged defence?, carbine accuracy, mind enhancement, DNA sample? Assembly, and other such bonuses, a little something for each proffession perhaps

I've been out unbuffed and without armour to sample and managed it - risky, but fun I'm normally happy unbuffed with some kinetic armour.

200% of my base stats would be a nice buff because I never went for the stupid 400/400/1100 template, even when I still GCWed regularly.

I see it affecting us on 3 fronts.

1) how will pets be balanced into the new combat system, and what will our role be in creating such pets? (the whole question of gather vs create)

2) how will clothing with bio tissues be balanced against armor for combat purposes? (biobonuses vs protection/encumberance of armor)

3) how will chef food buffs fit into the new combat system. They are balanced against everything, HAM, doctor buffs, smuggler buffs, ranger/scout forage buffs, and all that.

So I think it's safe to say that we are a very concerned "combat support" class.

i always use buffs when sampling (they only cost 10-15k and that can be made back easy by doing one or two mission that only take 5 mins per lair).

  • i would like to see mainly how pets are gonna be used in the GCW (CH related perhaps, but effects us)

  • more tailor tissues types / offering different bonuses(as mentioned before)

  • if chef tissues will be made weaker in line with the food / buff nerfing (er i mean, balancing )

Some of you will know this but I guess a lot of you wont, it hasnt been officially announce but TH mentioned it in the CB push back thread and he's said its OK to talk about it.

At the end of August all the correspondants will be flying out to Austin for a few days to discuss the combat balance, unfortunately I'm not going to be able to go. SOE are footing the bill on this one but the budget doesnt extend to transatlantic flights.

I know ways are being looked at for me to be able to be there without physically being there but for the meantime, DocSavag has agreed to be our mouthpiece at the meeting.

He's been good to us in the past and him and nJessi helped ups out a lot when Talthazaar went missing so I'm confident he will do a good job for us.

Right now I'm working on a list of things to give to him on our behalf and he's going to keep me up to date on whats going so I know we will be well represented.

I would really like to see more tailor tissues to give people the option of not having towear armor all day long

Well I think this summit is an excellent oppertunity to get some balancing for our products accross the board.

Personally I can sample mutant rancors with nothing more than a speederbike, synsteak and brandy/jawa beer. I have never found buffs or armor to be needed, although they help to some extent.

Pets need to be balanced and made more useful. Pet tanking will be making a come back. We need different damage types made into our pets. We need pet stims to become easier to make, fish and dath insect meat are rare.

The pet bugs need to be worked out. Pets slowingdown or stopping. Pets not attacking. Invaild pets. There should be a list of petbugs made between the BEs and CHs that need addressing.

Mounts need tobe more useful. Specials should work while on a mount, with either a damage pendalty or the mount slows down to normalchar speed.Other activities such asmounts attacking with their range attack while mounted and surveying needs to be brought up. Mounts being a bit to slow to even come close to competing with vehciles needs to be addressed.

BE tailor tissues will be of more importance. People will be looking for more bonuses after getting nerfed. Additional tissues would be nice and well as more uses for tissues, i.e. inclusion in armor. If they were makable into armor as they once were they could become much more popular. I doubt they will let them go into composite but certainly lower level armors to give them some meaning. Otherwise there will be an over all armor nerf that won't be good.

Food is a big concern of course. If food becomes less useful and not worth the hassle of obtaining meat, then we would have a problem selling our additives. Granted we are not a direct food distributer, least most of us aren't, but BEs will be impacted by this. Food prices are already falling and the BEs are getting upset about this with flame posts blaming chefs. We need to make sure that food will be useful in the post CB economy.

Maybe someone else from the BEcommunity can help out at this event? DocSavag is fine and all I suppose, as long as he has a full list of issues. I hope our list isn't things like, 'We need armor and buffs to sample' because that just isn't true. We do have a long list of things, more than what I thought up ofI am sure. Is DocSavag a BE/CH and knows those issues well?

I think if all animals did different damage it would certainly make our job more challenging rather than just loading on kinetic and vulns to the rest.

I have no problem getting dath insect meat. In about 2 hours i got about 10000 units doing gaping spider recluse missions, so I dont think that is a problem. Many professions ask for specific resources, such as doctor's lokian wild wheat or tatoonian fiberplast and I dont think we should be different. As for fish... well I think that should just be easier to get (e.g. using nets / industrial harvester boats).

What if you were to send a proxy to the Summit? Or is it strictly Correspondants?

If not, I'd like to nominate ArthurDent to go on our behalf.

If so, I'm sure DocSavag will be ... adequate...
