SO I am out sampling my favorite Dizzy Knockdown trio (Sharnaff Bulls, Sharnaffs, and Tortors). Get myself enough to make about 7 pets. When I get back I figure I will test some stuff first with my Above Average DNA and I get something similar to this
CL28
HAM 8k/7k/8k
18% kinetic
18% Energy
18% blast
15% Heat (sp)
48% Stun (sp)
Damage 300-310
Dizzy
Knockdown
I put the Experimentation into
Aggession 3
Mind 2
Prowess 2
Physique 3
(The one thatincreases protectionsgot 3, I always get Prowess and Physique mixed up)
All Great Successes.
Next I do exactly the same thing, assembly and experimentationwith Very High Quality DNA and I get this
CL24
HAM ~8k/8k/8k
19% Kinetic
19% Energy
19% Blast
15% Heat (sp)
48% Stun (sp)
Damage 310-320
Dizzy
Knockdown
The to hit and speed were exactly the same in both although I cannot remember what they were as I am at work.
So, although I got better stats in the second creature with the exact same actions, I got 4 Creature Levels lower. Both Pets Tamed by a CH perfectly fine BTW.
Has anyone else found the DNA quality effecting the CL by such a large ammount? I mean that's a 2 to 3 box difference in Creature Handler ability there.

Well, I think there are a couple of things in this combine that you're doing that may affect CL. The first is the experimentation. When you have a combine that requires the use of 10 experimentation points, be prepared for variations, even if everything else were the same. The differences in your resists is just odd though. Difficult to believe in fact as I've never experienced that.
The second thing is variations in the dna. This is due to both dna quality and variation between animals of the same type. Certainly if you sample 3 different sharnaffs, even if the dna samples are all of the same quality, you'll have pretty big variations in the stats (10% easy). Next time you sample a "lair" check this out. Before you even begin sampling creatures check out the variations in HAM just between the creatures you see in that lair. Also, next time you are putting dna samples into your "formula" take a quick peek at the actual values on the dna samples. You'll be surprised at how varied the numbers can be.
So I'd expect to see1-2 CL point differences from combine to combine, but your differences seem pretty excessive. I'm guessing you had some significant differences in your experimentation sucesses from your first attempt to your second attempt that you just failed to notice.

BTW, the recipe is Sharnaff Bull, Sharnaff, Sharnaff, Sharnaff, Tortor.

I'm pretty certain that both numbers are taken into account so if you have one with hard 400 fort 345 and another with hard 400 fort 1, the second will have less CL, even though the 2 creatures will have similar stats.
