Over the last week or so there has been some suggestion that the reported formula for additives is incorrect (33/33/33) so I did some tests with the meat and flora I had in my bag and this is what I came up with:
I was making BSNs with meat and flora
55 meat, 25 flora
Meat:
FL 754
PE 378
OQ 651
Flora:
FL 797
PE 159
OQ 762
After weighting the resources my total is:
FL 767
PE 309
OQ 685
add them all up and divide by 3 gives me 587
As a percentage that gives me 58.7 (rounded down is 58%)
Which is excatly the percentage I got to when I maxed my experimentation.
I'm not seeing a problem with this....

IF you really want to find any info at all you are gonna need to have more then 1 test sample.

its 30/30/40 almost positive on this. But why does it matter??? SOE has the numbers right infront of them. Tell them we have seen some fluctuations and to please check it out and give us some feedback. I mean heck its not like they are hiding the numbers in the first place since they add them to all our recipes. So if you think it could be wrong just make them check it.

If it was 30/30/40 then the above example would have come out as 59%
as for 'making the devs check the numbers' that isnt ever going to happen - they dont work on our command. Thats why i'm collecting this information - first and foremost to determine if there is a problem and if so, I have all the number to back it up.

no it wouldnt
BSNs arent 100max they are 90 so there is a little bit of wiggle room.

The max has got nothing to do with the percentages. It could have a 500 max and the resources would still give the same percentage.

but thats the whole problem. You are basing your experiment on the experimentation percentage the game spits backout at you. But unless every number is spit back out with an equal number to its BSN based on90 as highest and 70ish??? lowestthen the formula is skewed somewhere.

btw i have no idea what the minimum number on bsn's are but i know its not zero
Find the range and you can find the formula and test it.
Lowest number I have been able to get is 81, so I doubt if it goes below 75.

btw thats a whole other problem. We only get a max of a 15 point range to play with. If resources are worth so little then whats the point really
ESP when each point only adds +2 to the final product. Resources and Experimentation should have equal values in the final outcome. not a 33-66 type of thing it is now.

Based on the values I have the minimum would be 60 but thats irrelevant.
If the weighted resources average as 1000 then the experimental max will be 100%
If the weighted resources average as 580 (as above) then the percentage will be 58%
If the ratio is not 33/33/33 then it wouldnt be an average and one quality would be more heavily weighted than another if as you suggest it is 30/30/40 then the percentage would have come out as 59% using my resources, however it didnt - it came out as 58, which was the result expected for a 33/33/33 split

what im saying is the XP percentage spit out by the system is right. The actual percentage used is whats wrong. Just because you can see something doesnt make it true. I have used better resources and got a worse product than the one I used with a higher OQ rating.
