I certainly don't think tis a bad idea. If Doc is now a Field medic profession...then we need somebody who stays at home in the hospital.

To do what? Patients don't go to a hospital to speak to the medicine crafter. They go there for healing.....

You should get a pharmacy instead.
BioE now has the roles of:
medic 0004.
doc crafting (and master).
CM crafting (and master).
as the sole crafter of meds, and med enhancers.
since medics, docs, and CM's no longer perform the roles that were once allocated to them... and since BioE is now saddled with a lower toon CL than their 'field medic' collegues of the same or less skill point investment, it makes sense that the placement of a static structure with healing in mind be ADDED to BioE, if not removed from CM/doc (something I am only proposing as a counter-argument, and not as a suggestion).
I still find it odd that a med-crafting BioE can be as effective as a mBioE (in fact, more effective... consider that the 12-point med crafters, who have 'superior' crafting skills to any 'basic' mBioE, and who often ALREADY have the (to this point) highly desirable med exp SEA's) at 0004.

Question: What does a BE do in a hospital? Talk to people and tell them to do a community search for a doc, and that they are out of luck if they dont find one?

I have to agree with this. In theory, med centers are there for healing, presumably wounds. Since this is not the job of a BE, nor are they even able to do this I do not think BE's should be able to place a hospital anymore than docs should be able to place a cantina.
Oh, and hi, new master BE here

Agreed. BEs don't heal, treat wounds, rez, cure or any of the other things. As humorously mentioned above, a pharmacy would be more appropriate. As long as the Health Dept. doesn't get on us about having the pet shop in the same room of course.

IMO BE's could also be considered to be Veterinarians so you could also say that placing a hospital is within the requirements of a BE. You would simply just have to rename your Hospital sign to reflect it as a Vet Clinic.

the hospital thing isn't really such a bad idea, although, we should rename them as vet clinics, pharmacies or the like...
personally, i was already mdoc from before the cu (and 2222 be for...umm...6 months before finishing it up) and am in the process of converting my med center into a genetics lab
