Thread: I can't believe people actually stay in this profession
My Holocron has forced me into mastering BE, so now that I have access to all your schematics I realize what a messed up profession this really is.
1st you have no way to harvest resources in any seriouse quantities like any of the artisan professions.
2nd you have some resources that are rarer then Holocrons (milk eggs and fish)
3rd more people know how to get a holocron then know how to get milk
4th I've yet to see 1 BE crafted pet come close to what can be tamed in the wild
5th Your only customers are Tailors
6th half the pets you can make are just furniture
7th This profession have been waiting since BETA for a fix
My best wishes to you all, and hopefully they will fix your profession soon.

registered 10 days ago and youre already sounding like a BE veteran. lol
Thank you Gweth (I'm not being sarcastic).
Maybe what we need it a groundswell of people that come into the profession via Holocron writing to the devs and posting elsewhere (is there a forum for Holocron followers?) to draw attention, not just of the devs, but of all the other players that may not realize how badly our profession needs some attention.
Looking bad to the BE's is one thing. There aren't a lot of us that are wanting to be BE's as a long term career. But the devs looking bad to everyone else might get some attention.
Yeah, I know... hope springs eternal...
Maybe this holocron thing will help others to understand why we're such a whiney bunch, because we have good reasons. People who want to be bio-engineers tend to start out with stars in their eyes. Then after awhile they get tired of all the things that are messed up and turn into bitter veterans, if they last that long. It's good to see that someone coming into this with no preconceived notions, other than just seeing it as another class to get through, much like any other class, is quick to see the things that veteran BE's have been complaining about for months.
Sure, there are one or two things that actually do work, but are those worth supporting an entire class on? Maybe they are if that's the original reason for choosing the class-I want to make lots of money on pet stims and kaadu. Or I want to make the best gurrecks anywhere, over, and over, and over...Or, I think tissue enhancements are really cool and I know, or am, a tailor that eats them up like popcorn.
Since none of those apply to me, I agree that the class is severely messed up. Now, present tense, at the moment. We can't go around pretending that it's already been fixed because we haven't seen it yet, and have no clue as to when we're going to see it. "Shortly" seems to be turning into a loong wait.
Actually, I got my mount, a Kaadu named Cluck, from a BE, and had a CH train it later. ![]()
Thing is, though, most peeps want to buy a fully trained mount, and don't have the patience ![]()
I guess I know now why so many BE's are flocking to become DE's instead... ![]()
Are the mounts for non-CH's made by BE's not as good as the ones made by CH's?
If so, how so?
I will be sticking with Cluck in any event... he was a gift from a guild mate, and I think he is cool ![]()

Well, a wild baby male or female Kaadu is going to grow into a hardier animal than what the BE can make (1700 HAM in wild vs apporx 850-900 by BE). For an animal that's strictly a mount then it's no big deal, but yeah... the BE versions of just about everything have a better flavor out in the wild.
Ouch ![]()
Well, as I said, not gonna drop Cluck in the deep frier... but that is really pathetic.
Heh heh... not by any means to trivialize your problems, but check out this thread:

It might make you feel a bit better ![]()

Trust, I feel for the DE's, too. I was actually working towards DE for a couple of weeks. Then for some reason I thought BE would be a better choice...
