Thread: Sample DNA Macro????
my /sampledna macro is as follows:
/follow
/say This will only hurt for a second
/sampledna
Well that's it, the /say comment just made it a bit more entertaining to grind thru the DNA portion. Piket missions on Dant. are a good place to get sampling xp, just make sure you bring help, or like me, are a CH of some sort.
Sampling isn't like hand sampling resources. No matter how good your macro is it isn't going to deal with the possibility of incap and death. Not to mention it would have to target mobs for you. You can only get so many samples before the mob dies or aggros and is killed or kills you.
I am at work so I have to this from my head. I start with a creature selected in a high populated creature area and I always have a pet grouped with me and on guard with me. I also put the camera way outside me and a bit tilted above and I use Ctrl + Shift + S to rotate:
/follow;
/pause 15;
/sampledna;
/sit; (so you can regain some mind while sampling dna. When the creature starts moving you will auto stand and follow again)
/pause 12; (If i remember correctly the time it takes to sample)
/sampledna; (for when he is not yet dead or 1st failed)
/sit;
/pause 12;
/stopfollow;
/tellpet follow; (for when the *** has wandered off)
/ui action cycletargetoutward (please check the spelling + capitals on this one)
/pause 3;
/ui action cycletargetoutward; (want to make sure I get a new target)
/pause 3;
/ui action cycletargetoutward; (I make 1 complete look around in 15 seconds. This should give me enough time to really find a new target)
/stand; (if you are close to a mob you need to stand before sampling, this is in case you dont need to walk to the target)
/ui toolbarslotxx; (the command to select the toolbarslot this macro is in, so it restarts)
To stop, just remove the macro from the slot or use that command i have forgotten... Remember to clear your inventory cause when it is full all samples will fail. Every time I run this i get 4k-5k exp. Not very much, but i saves me a lot of work and i can watch TV while sampling dna. (Got my PC hooked to the tv so I can see what is going on from the other room. Sometimes very funny to watch)

Imagine a profession that you cant fully grind through whilst AFK.
Try to enjoy the profession instead of "just getting through it" to get to the next holocron.

Wow, thanks man, that's got to be the best macro I've read to date... sure it's only 4 or 5kxp per hour, but heck doing something useful with my time while the computer grinds away at useless SOE timesinks is wonderful!
