One of the things which just occoured to me is that while people are talking about new skill enhancing tissues for clothing there is really a more 'cool' method of doing this which is also more in line with how bio-engineering works. The idea just occoured to me that some RPG games have spells which grant short term buffs of a more supernatural nature which could be explained in SW mythology by genetically engineering viruses (viri).

Lets take a few examples of what could be accomplished and the attatched fiction:

Increased EXP from activities : virus effects neural pathways allowing for rapid learning

Increased accuracy : virus increases the nerve impulses from the eyes

Increased speed for specials : enhances the nervous system and electrolite conductivity

So basically it's anything which effects passive skills that wouldn't make sense from wearing clothes and are seperate from the usual buffs to the stats. These would in effect be much like the power-ups attatched to weapons in that they have a fixed duration. You might even classify them as food or could even be placed INTO food so that they cannot be used one after another while it would even mean that Chefs would become more popular as more complex food can contain different viri or even multiple viri enhancers.

This would be awesome and I think it falls right into the skills that a BE could have. Excellent idea.
