Thread: A new niche pet market?

Over the last week or so, I've been getting a new, odd, request several times now:

"a non-ch pet, don't care about HAM, don't care about resists, lots of damge, poison/disease specials"

The funny thing is that this is the exact pet that I made during that "highest damage on a CL 10" competition, and I have some "floor models" of those that people have been begging me for.

One person who requested one, said that is was to counter the "swim to escape" tactic in PVP. Has anyone else been getting such requests? I guess it's time to start working on a new, very different formula, for CL 10's.

well with all vulns you can get over 500 dmg on a cl10 pet and if you're smart enough you can breed in strong poison and disease. i'm curious, if you were to create a pet with strong poison/ strong poison or strong poison/ medium poison - would they stack?

I've actually been selling CL10 pets lately. No special requests, just generic pets.

If you come up with a good combo, lets us know. I'm will to try making good PvP again.

I'm getting pounded with CL orders. Something must be getting a boost in the CURB. I have noticed more and more people grinding CH at tusken. Anyone shed some light?

The armor doc just came out. I am guessing people are reading it as 'nerf'. So pet tanks will be back in fashion soon.

PvP is all about DoT right now, so strong poison/disease isn't surprising. If you get 10 of them on one jedi (don't always have good melee resists) and they stay up long enough to get a shot in, then that poison becomes a heavy hit. Pets are a joke right now, so this strategy will last for a couple of weeks before they are killed on sight like mouse droids.

I am guessing a group tef 'exploit' with the follow command to the target to get the pets close, then the tef, then attack. They will get one shot in, at least. Poison doesn't always stick, but even 3 out of 10 is 300 points a tick.

with the armor changes, i see droids and pets coming back into the market

it's been a while, but have they fixed the problem with pets performing attacks on command? (ie. the poison/disease that was requested)

if so, i'm sure mantigrue screechers would be very helpful in bypassing this cowardly way of escaping battle

Pets are still quite powerful but remain buggy and annoying to use, which is why they are not in use.

I'm seeing more CH's as well...

I just assumed it was due to the solo groups demise

and people taking CH to increase the mission levels...

I just made some 10/5k/3k HAM 2d gen pets using GSP/GSP/KIMA/KIMA/SGD, then sampling them and using MH/MH/Gen1x3. 59% kinetic and 44% blast. There's lots of recipies on the boards for making CL10 pets. Hard to find them, but they're out there.

I posted a possible recipe here, of course not being a BE I can't test it:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=bio-engineer&message.id=90008&jump=true

It may require more than 2 generations but it is certainly achievable.
