I know this has been reported before, but this happened to me tonight, so I thought I would document it.
Creature Food: Alfegi Yavin Carnivore meat OQ: 970 PE: 843 FL: 886
Flora Structural: Osost Tat Dec Wood: OQ: 985 UT: 185 Sh: 340 Mal: 734 De: 352
Scaley Hide: Ihiacle Correlian Scaly Hide: OQ 923 UT: 886 Sh: 739 Mal: 222 De: 28
Egg: Aeca: OQ: 466 PE: 150FL: 833 De: 988
On combine it was +7 and after full experimentation it reached +18(!). Very odd considering the egg is really crappy. So I wanted to see if it was a fluke or not. I tried it again (the stack of egg I have is 1.2k muahahaha) and this time the value started at +6 and fully experimented reached "only" +16. Hmm, very odd.

While the experimentation seems strange, i'm more inclined to ask....
HOW DID YOU EVER GET 1.2k OF EGG???????
um yeah....more testing maybe?

Perhaps a few amazing successes? Try munching that Chef cake, pylian or somesuch. Increases your chance of good experimentation. I have a few crates when I'm trying to make really good stuff with soso resources. Definately almost always get great successes and often an amazing. Much one of those and try again, maybe you got a few amazings.
Oh and yea, where did you get 1.2k eggs and how big a fortune did you pay for it

No amazing sucesses, only "great sucesses". The odd thing was what happened on the combine (getting a point higher starting value, and you getting more boxes in the "experimentation line").
Oh, I bought the eggs on the bazaar. I think I paid about 10k for them, rofl.

Wish I could find that much egg on the bazaar lol. All I ever see on starsider is someone wanting 3-4k for 20 odd units lol.

Sometimes combine is just very good and allows stuff like this.
I once had it the other way round also though, I made a Janta Stamina Buff and I was two boxes short on the experimentation line for some odd reason, the line was just not as long as it was on all other crafts using the same avian meat/reactive gas.
