Anyone think it would be cool to have an Iron Chef sort of competition on a server? I was thinking it could be completely planet based, and the participants would have 5 DNA samples from each selected species to make a pet. For example, Iron BE Naboo would have:

5 Fambaa DNA, 5 Kaadu, 5 chuba/gnort/spineflap, etc.

Bio Engineers will duke it out to see who can make the best pet. A panel of Judges may be hard to get, though.

Think we have a tradition in the making here?

On second thought, Iron Pet competition sounds much better.

Bad Idea. The new cloning system is totally random as to what results you get with only 5 DNA samples. There is no competition there. A better competition would be to allow BE's to show up with only what DNA they can carry on their person in the form of DNA samples or cloned creature templates from which to sample from and then lay out specific stats listing CL, resists, armor, and special attacks desired. Then you will truly see what BE's are the most skilled.

After making tons of 1st gen Kinetic tankers, I'll confidently say that there is a lot less randomness in cloning than I first had thought. I've been churning out roughly 11-12k HAM tankers very consistently, as well as CL 5 mid-HAM pets. It's gotten to the point where I just carry DNA templates for pets, then create the final creature as the customer wants it. I'll hit my mark on HAM/resists 90% of the time.

Oh, the idea I had was not to limit the BE to DNA from1 species; the Bio Engineer is free to pick and mix DNA from whatever planet the competition is held.

Example for Iron Pet, Naboo:

a contestant could try to make a pet with 1 fambaa, 1 nightspider, 2 gnort, 1 plains hunter if they wanted to.

If you really needed judges, I would try people who are BE/CH as they would know animals best, I'm sure you could find 5 people per server to be judges.

Or

You could have all the BE's give their pets to MCH's who only teach the pet the Attack command. Then the MCH's duel but only pets fight as they engage in a battle to the death. Sole survivor is the best. That simple.

You could also throw in a best of show contest and then cross-reference the best of show and battle categories tonameone BE the Iron Whatever.
