Thread: IS IT POSSIBLE TO SAMPLE MUTANT RANCORS?
I have read on these posts how many of u have sampled mutant rancor dna but i have sampled dna about 20 times and have yet to get a sample. If this is possible will someone let me know and also what is the ratio of successes to failures. Yes I am a master BE.
Thanks for your time,
Nitsui Med - MBE - Sunrunner
It is possible to do it. But they are so aggressive they attack each other. So its not easy. Nor should it be that easy. Since its the DNA we all want the most
Thanks guys, I went back and tried again and sure enough I got one it only took me like 30 times to get the first one. Hopefully the number of attempts drop before a successful one next time.
My other character is a BE. I sampled a few and found this to work.
- Wait until you're master BE.
- Good camo clothes (I had 110 all total, you can probably get much better).
- Keep your vehicle nearby incase you can actually get to it and run away, and then come back.
- If you do manage to lead one off, try and sample it while its away from the others, your detection chance goes up if you try and sneak up on a group.
- If you crawl in from about 64m, from behind the mutant rancor, and from behind trees, it really seems to help. I've tried to approach from the front and without cover with crawling, and I usually failed. Although that was approaching a group. Single ones are much easier to approach.
- Have burst run ready. But if you've allready used it ...
- ... then if detected try to run away up a steep slope. They seem to go a little slower uphill.
- I didn't try it, but if you buff up your health you can probalby survive maybe one or two hits.
- They attack each other because they have Open Wounds, which is something like Area of Effect wound or health damage. So if they do it to you with others around, they all turn on the offender, and then on each other as they keep doing it. So exit the party, remember where it was, and go find some others. (And I don't think you can make be pets with open wounds, I sure tried tho. :smileytongue

- And lastly don't worry if you fail, it takes time to gather decent mutant rancor dna. But its worth it. Just don't combine 5 very good mutant rancor samples. Your pet will be to high a level to use.
- The line between the Dathomir Sarlac and the Nightsister town seems to have alot of mutant rancors.
Good luck.

I've posted this before but there seems to be some odd effect going on. The more I sample Mutants as an MBE the higher my success rate become. Not sure what the deal is . . .
It's interesting you mention this...
i have the same anecdotal impression
