im a master BE and have been sampling quite a few interesting things .. one being a mob which will remain nameless so i dont spoil the fun for someone that hasnt found these yet *grin* with a special ability of force strike in the second slot

ive used over 50 or so samples in making pets and never gotten it to bleed thru to a dna disc also tryed making pets with the oposing type of dna *hint* with an unknown attack in the first special slot mixed to gether in various quantites 1-4 2-3- etc etc also tryed using floral from same planet and along with meat from the same mobs sacrificing the chance to obtain more samples

wondering if anyone else has been trying to get this stuff to show up in a pet... i havent unlocked my force slot yet though maybe that has something to do with it ...does anyone know if the jedi char has access to all other profession along with jedi tree or only jedi tree alone

possibly you need to be a jedi and learn BE to be able to get these to abilities in pets

if anyone thats doing this sort of similar exploration in creature creation using these dna sample feel free to post your 2 credits worth

no ... in my experience you cant let it bleed though.... as it is with every AE attack

and I guess you have sampled one of the sister rancors....

and to not spoil the fun for people searching ... there are other pets with force strike... maybe they find them...

There are a number of really, really, really cool specials we all would love to see stick to the final combine, but these "extreme" specials are not (apparently) intended to be available to pets. In addition to force strike, there are plague strike, open wounds, combo strike (merek kings), and unknown attack (so deadly, you don't even know what hit ya ). While there is no documentation to our profession, it is clear that no one has ever been able to get these to stick on the final sample. This has had the more-than-frustrating effect of creating samples from uber DNA with no specials on the final combine (really painful).

So...cool as it is, don't work too hard on making 'em. Maybe someday we'll know what we can and can't do with certainty.

Have to say, despite CH arguement to the contrary, there are several CH wild pets which are better than anything that a BE can make. I have a guild mate with a frenzied graul (65% kinetic and open wounds)and severalother exotic pets. All of which have abilities which cannot be gotten on a BE pet.

right now the list of specials we can't get seems to fall into two main categories:

area of effect attacks

bleed attacks

offhand, this drops poison spray, area combo, plague strike, force strike, open wounds, and a host of others.

the unknown attack is currently an artifact of old data: it seems to have no effects.

as much as you might wish for 'force' attacks, plague strike and area combo are the real gems... and all of them are verboten.

That have put so many restrictions on what we can and can not make that it almost takes all the fun away from it...I understand that the CHs want their own exotic pets (give it to them), but for what reason does a MCH need to come to us for a pet that is less then effective? So we can give them a 12k HAM Kimo? That is the only reason a MCH needs the BE profession. Yeah the other professions need us for non-ch pets, but that just sucks. I feel that MCHs should have to rely on us a little more, to make us more worth while. I say give us those cool specials so that we can put them into a chuba or whatever we want.

keep in mind that until recently, all we were good for was petstims. which had to be crafted by hand. which (at the D level) require fish.

now we have a cloning system that is far better than it was (though not perfect), tissues that WORK, and factory-runs.

I wish we could get kinetic resists over 60%. I wish we could get the tastier specials. I wish we could control the CL of clones. I wish crit fails weren't so maddening.

but we got what we got, and it's a big improvement over the 'dark days.'

you want MCH to rely on BE more? how much more dependent on BE can they be? I curently have a MCH and a MBE (seperate toons) On my MCH I use almost exclusivly the pets my BE has made. the only reason to use a wild pet in most situations is for the combos that dont stick. usaly if I want to use a wild pet that is worth useing I cant use another pet due to the CL limit, even a BE'd pet that would fit would likely be too low to be worth useing. wild pets tend to have glairing vulnerability holes wich as long as they arnt kenetic are fine in pve but alow the pet to be taken down in seconds in pvp.

Most of the time I use a pair of BE'd pets, either one of wich is more than a match for any single 50+ pet I could find wild. AOE attacks and "Look What I got" are realy the only reasons to have wild pets now. If you still cant feel worthwhile as a BE maybe you need to re-evaluate your profession choice. BE make pets that are far more versital than wild pets, make pet stims, make skill enhanceing tissues, and make additives for chefs. you have plenty of value IMO. you just sound like one of those people that thinks another nerf should be thrown at the CH class for your own personal gain. The nerf callers are the ones that prompted the AFK message I leave up on my MCH especialy when I have the title on. "I do NOT tame/train pets for people PERIOD. If you want mount traind you should have thought about that befor you cried nerf or stood by and said nothing while others got CH nerfed."

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

alot of insteresting feedback but it kinda shifted off topic there heh there is still something fishy about the samples though .. i wont give up on the idea ... the spend 250 skill point to become a jedi is my only reason to suspect being able to do other profesions with special bonus.. i wont dismiss the possibility of my theories until i have unlocked my slot and see if indeed you have choice to 1) spend the 250 points to take on the jedi profession or 2) play the new "force" knowledgable char like a normal one and use the 250 points on medic, scout,Bio ect. if someone beats me to it and does what i post here .. more power to them, as this place is to share ideas.finding new and unanounced things like the makershidingsecrets, or "eggs" if you may for people to find. it wouldnt make any sence to me to even havean optionto spend the 250 point tobegin the jedi porfession if nothing else existed to spend them on. but there is quite a few things already the makes me ponder its very purpose.. i think it is just a normal type char with the extra option to Spend them to be a jedi. just my observation of little details. i think there is still some stuff in the dark and im pointing my flashlight at something here or im complety bonkers and out of my gord heh. i guess i will see in the next reply or ingame
