This profession has to be the hardest to level that i have ever come across. For those of you who made it to master bio you have my utmost respect and my hats off to ya, but i just couldnt take the grinding anymore hehe. So i bid adieu to the profession until such time as things get fixed...Now for a little meandering logic if there is any left in my brain after all the grinding hehe ...

I think the potential for this profession is amazing. One of the reasons i gave it a shot despite all i read on the forum. Though i never could figure out why the DNA sampling was such a pain, i mean come on really all we would really need is just a sample of hair or some tissue and then just the bio material to make whatever. This could have been a crafted solution for us to make that we would add the dna sample too and have it replicate into a dna template. This way the sampling itself need not be evasive and it could be used as a quantity item much like the ores. So u have a box of 100 inert dna samples. Then it takes oh how bout 5 to make one dna template, craft it together and poof there ya go. You would get bio crafting xp in making the bio material and for the making the template as well. Then just add the mutation factor as a part of experimentation where u have to use some radioactive ore and boom, better pets. Of course i wouldnt think the mutation would be that controllable so it could be a better or worse outcome for the pet..Of course that would be off set by the bio crafting xp u had so the better u were the less likely of a weaker pet. Or at least i think so at any rate hehe. These are just my thoughts and by no means any indication that the powers that be would consider such an option, but thought i would just throw this out there.. Good luck to all the new bio's out there!

I never thought I would finally say those words but the fact is I simply finally give up on this game and every profession in it. Everday I read the forums I see more Nerf Buffs, Dont allow overts to buff, Buffs ruin pvp posts.. and frankly I have had it with all of it. I have played this game since release and have watched every whiner and there mother come in complaining and eventually winning over with there complaints. I really never thought it would come to people complaining about doctors but it finally has.. and I really think that in a few months if not sooner chefs will be on the hit list b/c of there new foods. I dont understand why people continue to beleave that the grass is greener on the other side. I to once thought this and then I started up doc and relized the amount of time one has to invest in resources to make the product. It takes alot of dedication to be any support role and hear the slander we receive when we

1- Dont feel like buffing

2- Dont have time to rez or are busy keeping our friends alive

I really think people beleave we are there to serve them, when they say so and there should be no if and or buts about it. And now everyday I see more of those nerf buff posts... I just wanted to say goodluck to all you doctors out there that will continue and I really hope that they dont give in to the whiners. I also hope that you guys that continue to play finally get the game that this was meant to be. I'll continue to post till the 21st when my membership goes, and then i'll probaly just turn it over to my friends, but frankly I have just had enough with the people that play this gameand the constant give in mentality that the devs have.

I do have to say tho if they even start to talk about nerfing buffs (even more) the doctor community needs to seriously fight that and not let it go quietly into the patch. Anyway goodluck all

Im tired of hearing wait for the combat balance, wait for the combat balance. Nowthe DEVs announcedit being planned for after JTL that will be atleast jan 2005 if it rolls out fast.

Well Master BH no more, going to drop it and go with melee profession and with 3000 bh. i am contemplating teras kasi or Swordsmanship. Strickly for jedi hunting, no pvp, just PVJ (player vs. jedi). i still want to still want to be a bh, i might try and keep bh carbines.

Whats better against jedi, TKA or swordsman?

When did the devs make this announcement of further delaying the combat balance?

devs said today that they plan on working on the combat balance after JTL is out, its been posted all over the forums. JTL is scheduled for november if all goes well. so i figure if they make the CB a prioty afterwardsthen it will be a few months later. sounds like 2005 to me. i am not gonna wait that long. everyone with a jedi will be a knight by then. then what use would there be to revamp combat if jedi knights rule the galaxy anyways.

i wish they spend some time on a Bounty hunter revamp.

Reason i was thinking swordsman was for the high damage attacks orTKA for good damage, stun dizzy, knockdowns. all round fighter.

Fencer is all defense which is great, but wondered how much damage can i dish out with a fencing weopon? fencer is more wear them down. which would work i guess.

I have faith in Marrow accuratly forwards our negative responses as well as the few positive ones, but considering how they continue to ignore our pleads and actually just makes it worse all the time I start to wonder if they listen at all to our correspondent.

Without a voice I do not see how anything from this forum can improve, so what to do now?

I have a lovely guild Im in and would like to continue to help, but I have no energy to start all over as a crafting doc again. Without it I dont feel to be (according to me) a second rated doctor. I either do it all or dont.

Since all ive gathered been put into the resources and crafting for over a year back, Im practicly back to square one, any suggestion to what I should pick up instead. You who have already canceled docs what have you taken up?

My suggestions are:

1. Ease up. Breath.

2. Use this time to reflect. Ask you self what you really like to do in this or any game. Do you like to craft, go out and help a group do things, ect.

3. Then pick your prof.

If you realy just like to crafter there will still be a lots of crafting to be had. I, for example, will be picking up BE and chef on one of my toons. That should satisfy my crafting needs.

On another I will be a CM/Doc since what I like to do most is do group hunts (PvP and PvE).

to all of us docs, including our original author here. Crafting after the CU will be greatly reduced in effectiveness due to the game-shift to a level based system where characters will be using innate abilities and skills granted without the use of crafted equipment. what this will do is pretty much cripple the crafting system as we know it, and while it will still be an option for people, the worth of such items will be greatly reduced due to its ineffectiveness in the combat arena.

things such as armor, buffs, stims and other things will only be marginally effective when your character is faced with a mob that is higher level than yourself or your group. you will still take increased damage despite your crafted protection and buffs. i find this very saddening because the true glory of SWG was its crafting system, and that people could rely on top quality equipment to get them thru their trials in the game.

what you will see after the CU is that most crafting if it is kept in its current form on TC will not becost effective to do, and prices will be insane to make up for the increased workload, increased danger to non-combat crafting in the field to get to their harvesters and factories, longer factory times, increased resource requirements.
