I did some mental arithmetic based on my experiences in becoming a Master BE.

Minimum path:-

(Grinding the lowest level item, micronutrient supplements that use 15 meat and 35 flora, using multiple crafting kits with no experimentation, and allowing for critical failures.)

80,000 meat, 180,000 flora resources. At average bazaar prices of 3 credits per unit and assuming that you can get trained by another player at least part of the time. Net cost:- around 800,000 credits.

7,500 DNA samples of 'trash' critters that won't kill you the first time you poke them with the sampling needle. (Assume 'free' healing by making a camp, sitting in the med center while eating pizza, or watching dancers for free)

Actual path:-

100,000+ meat, 250,000+ flora resources (crafting banthas, dewbacks etc to sell on the bazaar, playing with enhancements along the way)

50,000+ inorganics. Many many stimpacks, many many wound packs.

It took me from July through to October to do it. (I only did the 'grind' thing to finish off Tissues IV and Technigues IV.)

Anyone else keep track of what it actually takes to get there?

I went Masters CH/Bio back when you could create a pet, tame it, kill it, harvest it for resources.. so the impact was far less. DNA would have been approximately the same. I did all my leveling on pets.. no tissues.
