Thread: Current CH exploit

There were people on my server with 4 rancors out last night. Wouldn't say how they did it. Pretty much overwhelming. More calls to nerf CH were shouted out. The only reason that bothers me is that the current and proposed cloning line is 75% critters that only CH's can use.

The exploit will obviously be fixed within a couple days. I'll be listening for uber 733t doodz calling the fix a nerf.

Could you tell if these were full-grown or not? There have been rumors of a +1 skill mod to the number of pets you could have out. Currently you can actually call 2 or even 3 rancors as long as they are not full-grown. If someone had Master CH, the mentioned skill mod and 4 baby rancors, they could in theory call them all.

I have a skill mod for +3 additional pets and I'm wearing the suit I used it on right now. Once I become master CH I can call like 6 gnorts. That would be pretty funny.

Yes, I'm a lucky **edit** who got a +3 additional pets mod, hehe. Although it doesn't matter as much as it used to ever since they changed Ch so much.

Or they might just have hadfour CL15-20 half grown baby rancor out which would indeed come to only a total of around CL60, they'd look almost fully grown but ultimately it's still within the rules. No doubt there are probably exploits out there like this but I say never doubt the creativeness of some people and the stupidity of some others. The people screaming at them thinking they were exploiters simply saw four rancor and automatically assumed someone was cheating when they might not have been.

Well, you'd still need a +additional pets skill mod to do this as MCH can only call 3 pets max. But yes, that was my point, baby creatures have a fraction of the cl they do as adults and it's entirely possible these people were not exploiting at all.

There's also the possibility that it was someone elses pets simply set to befriend another CH since that would also work as the rancor would take their commands and seem to be theirs.

Has anyone every gotten befriend to work? Its never worked for me. However I've gotten this effect using guard (When it works which is intermittant) and follow other.

If you see something on the bazaar that is up for auction, and you really want it, all you need to do is put down a bid of 3000. The item is yours, since no one can bid higher than 3000 credits.

Well the bid was at 3000$ to begin with, but tnx for the tip

Its not a rumour. I tried to purchase one on the bazar at talus daeric about 2 months ago. It was set as an auction *grumble* so i never got, however they do exist. It was a slotted clothing item and i believe you are exactly right, they Rancors were not fully grown.

This exploit has been around for a while. Something on the order of three weeks ago is the first I heard of it.

1. Find a server boundary
2. walk about 200m away from the boundary, camp, call some pets.
3. have them follow you across the boundary
4. about 200m on the other side of the boundary, tell pets to stay.
5. walk back to your camp, call more pets.
6. walk back to your first set of pets, new pets in tow, tell them to stay.
7. walk back to camp, call more pets.
...

you see where this is going. you can call all 16 of your pets this way, as far as I know.

posting this because hopefully this will get it some attention and have it raised on the priority list. I do not endorse using this exploit, and if you do and I see you i will personally /report you.
