Thread: For your information, the new NON-CH pets we have
Now all in all, we didnt come off too bad for possible non-ch clones. Infact we came off damned good, the laughable thing is... our best CL10 critter appears to be the Jax. Now all of these critters on the whole vary around 800-1000 HAMs and damage around 50-100, there actually isn't much seperating them at all but with such fragile creatures the ones with intimidation attacks like the Jax are going to be all the more desirable. At least we won't have to worry about rock beetle or mountain krevol anymore. Plus we're gonna see another rush of people wanting pets now since they're cowardly gurrecks and beetles no longer work for them. Too bad I'll have to give up my Guf Drolg, I did like him ![]()
Bearded Jax - CL10, no armor, 30% blast 20% energy 10% kinetic/restraint/heat/cold
Carrion Spat - CL10, no armor, 15% kinetic/energy/blast/restraint
Eopie - CL7, no armor, 20% heat/cold 10% kinetic/energy/blast/restraint
Dalyrake - CL9, noarmor, 15% kinetic/energy/blast/retraint
Gurrcat - CL10, no armor, 5% kinetic/energy/blast/retraint
Kaadu - CL10, no armor, no resists
Krahbu - CL9, no armor , no resists
Zucca Boar - CL10, no armor, 5% kinetic/energy/blast/restraint
Hmm...but I still dont understand why anyone thats not a newbie would want a CL 10 pet that get eaten in one bite by most mobs worth killing as you advance in the game. Basically what soe is telling people is that unless u are a CH...why bother with pets unless its to ride them ![]()
I really dont know where this places BEs...and one good Pet Stim A can basically full heal a CL 10 pet in like 3-4 shots, coupled with less psuedo CHs...seems to blank out a big chunk of stim sales?
And tissues are still broke...
**edit**...boy do I need to get a holocron and hope it tells me to be a commando or something haha
Well on the whole pets are NOT supposed to be weapons, thats the whole reason why the devs are working to turn them into partners not meat sheild. Indeed the current CL15 cap is still too high since it gives you a meat shield that has TWICE as much HAM as you do plus a little bit more when you take resistances into account. That does seems a bit heavy handed when you look at it and droids are supposed to be more desirable in the SW universe. A CL10 critter really isn't as useless as you might think, my in-game wife has a Dalyrake I made her and it allows us her to beat down tuskcats when the only offensive skills she has is marksman 0/4/0/2 which isn't bad really as that is a critter around CL20 she's taking on.
In the end though, yes.. if you want a worthwhile pet you need to be a CH. That is very fair in my opinion. And one of the nice side effects on this is because the difference between species at CL10 is so small (as they are all within the 600-1000 range on average) then you're gonna see more varied pets rather than legions of rock beetles and cowardlies.
Interesting things in the first post, the recient chatimplies that we are going to get more buisness.Perhaps on thelow end pets, to support the majority of the population, not just CHs.The chat made reference to our broken pets getting fixed andthey said "we would be in more demand". I for one, am an optimist and am counting on the changes to the clone line working with the proposed changes to the CH line. The chat implied that besides creatures being fixed, new ones also might be abailable. Since we need a broad market, I belive that implies more pets at the lower end for the general population. On the other hand it implies that we might get pets in the missing 27-50 range. Though with the proposed CH changes, I would prefer the lower end pets for the general population, and a few in the higher ranges. I can see it now, Pink striped, Bunnies...... for the masses!
If the cap is at lvl 10 for pets, at the least, we should see a rush in orders for "ducks" when mounts make it to the live servers. Assuming that the pets are also not going to change as well.....

My only complaint is, I want to know what to get. I am a 2-2-2-4 CH planning on giving up my CH skills. I went out gathering a couple of good non-ch pets to save for when I give up the skills. I tamed two Dalyrake harvesters CL 15, 2700 HAM with 65% kenetic resists, among others. I thought I was all set. Then the adjustment.
Now it looks like Carrion Spats will be the right choice. I went out and tamed 2 of those today. CL 10, 1100 HAM and 15% resists. Ok, not as good, but with my Doctor buffs, it can still watch my back while I work on the harvesters.
My only real complaint is, we know there are going to be further adjustments in CL levels and stats. I would really like to know what to save up, for when I don't have the skills to tame any more. It is bad enough that you go to the usual web sites looking for info on creatures and the only give patial info, and what they do give you contradicts from one site to the next. It is really hard to plan when you don't have any idea what will actually be usable next month.
Actually what I am hoping for, is that once all the dust settles, you guys will be able to make things at least a "little" bit better than what is out there in the wild now, and still be CL 10.
MissileToad,
I am not really that interested in "handling" creature. But, it is nice to have one to group with at the mission terminals so you can get a better payout on the missions you are offered. Right now by myself I get level 8 missions. With my two CL 16 Kusaks, I can get level 20 missions. I don't have a level 19 pet right now to try, but I do still have a Guaalama that I made back when I still had BE skills. He is CL 11. Grouped with him, I get level 9 missions. So with a level 10 pet, I can't expect to get any more than a one level bump in missions, if that much. If forget exactly what it was now, but I think my level 15 pet got me level 12 missions. So a drop from level 12 to level 9 is a pretty serious reduction in pay outs.
So... a male Kaduu is 2200 ham, does that mean that they will be over CL 10
I noticed that there seems to be a 9?? ham ceiling on the Kaduu. I have been over 950 many times, but never over 1000.
this is a silly topic to discuss if our cloning changes actually go in - we will be able to lower the CL of all creatures, many most likely to CL 10, although they did tell us some of the more advanced creatures will have a minimum CL.
