Thread: Question regarding sampling

This has probably been dealt with, but BioEngineers are a conspicuously chatty bunch, so I thought I'd ask anew.

Should I be failing 4 out of 5 sampling efforts on even the smallest, weakest creatures? I just got sampling 1, and am working on 2, but with the mind cost being so prohibitive, repeatedly failing samples on Chubas and the like is incredibly frustrating.

Anyone have any tips, or is this just the way it is until you get better?

Thanks in advance.

unfortunatly thiat is kinda 'the way.' you can do some things like change your focus to make it use less mind. the interesting thing is, all that dna you DO get, won't get you much crafting xp. i got sampeling IV before i got cloning II.

Get though sampling 1 and 2 and then it gets easy. At 3 I went and ran around Dantooine and sampled everything on my radar. Went from 3 to done in about 5 hours.

1) Muon Gold.

2) Forget trying to sample flying creatures it never seems to work.

3) Try to find a non-aggro/non-DB lair and go after the creaures that are lying down.

Be sure you don't wear armor that affects focus and willpower. You can extra willpower from Teltier Noodles, which is much less expensive then Muon Gold.

I have been sampling spineflaps, and rasps successfully on TC.

I dunno what has changed.
