Thread: Do Bio-engineers make money?

90% of my BE income is Tissue and Stimpack sales. I refuse to craft non-CH tanks until the cloning system is fixed.
If your not afraid of the cloning system's instability, non-ch tanks/mounts are good money, followed by Tissues and then Stimpacks. If your not up for cloning non-ch tanks then your good to go on tissues. Generally demand is pretty high, but it's a -huge- expense to get started on due to meat costs.
General CH pets are my slowest sellers. In fact, so slow I took down my vendor and now sell them on a strictly custom-order basis.
My friend has a BE and I get the meats for him.. We make millions of credits selling the various stuff for chef foods. We even have a few regular customers that place large orders for the stuff.
He doesnt make pets, or stims or even clothing inserts.. but he's never had anyone ask for them and we spend plenty of time as it is on the other stuff.
I'm a bit over 9 million in the bank, and will crack 10 mil over the weekend with some of the recent "contracts" I have to make chef suppliments and some pets I will have ready this weekend. I'm often told I underprice my market, and I really do not do BE to make money, I just seem to be good at doing so in general. (My Scout/CH/Ranger on Naritus became a multi-millionaire in the medical resource market within a month or so of the game's release, and I was ALWAYS told I charged too little for things then.)
It depends on how you play and what you enjoy doing. I'm primarily a pet-maker, both for my own interest and more recently, my own use, as well as for friends, and I make custom creatures for different players' needs. I do a good bit of tissue and suppliment crafting, which is mainly schematic and load the factory stuff, to help friends, and customers that have become friends, by providing them with the items they find hard to locate all too often for their own crafting.
I know there are others making more, and others making less. As they say, your mileage may vary; I do make enough that I am happy with it, can share freely with my friends and contribute meaningfully to the town I live in, so I'm satisfied there.

I make all my money on Nutrient line Cheff Tissues and Pet Stims (although my pet stim sales have been falling off since the CH nerf). But to make money you have to advertise, if you don't you won't make much, if you do you'll have to many orders to deal with.
I've gone to making Schematics for chefs at 10%cost.
