Is it just me or are pets not selling as well as they used to? It seems like all the CH's are already set when it comes to their pets, and with so few people turning to CH now days, it makes it harder to sell any. At least that what it seems like to me on the Kauri server. Well, I thought of a solution to this. I think that after so many uses, a pet should die. By uses, I mean once it'scalled out of a datapad.Think about it. Guns and armor decay after each use. Eventually, guns and armor will have to be replaced. Why shouldn't animals get a little "older" after each use and once an animal gets to the point where it's too old then it should die. That will force CH's to buy new pets from us. Otherwise, a CH can get his datapad filled with good pets and never have to buy another one again with the current system. Now, I don't know how many uses a pet would have before it died but here's my stab at it.

lvl 1-10 : 100 uses

lvl 20-30 : 200 uses

lvl 30 -40: 350 uses

lvl40 -50: 500 uses

lvl 60 -70: 750 uses

Or instead of usesmaybe the pets can only take so much damage in their life time before dying. How about something like this :

lvl 1-10 : 500k points of damage

lvl 20-30 : 700k points of damage

lvl 30 -40:1 millionpoints of damage

lvl40 -50: 1.2 million points of damage

lvl 60 -70: 1.5 million points of damage

Personally, I think the devs have to do something. I don't think pets should live forever in someone's datapad, you know? Anyone else feel the same way as I do?

Interesting ideas. How about using a current stat in the game, vitality. Disable use of vitality on wild pets.

No way my friend, I bet that you are not a CH, because most would have a real problem with this. If you check out their forum, there are posts about people keeping their pets that are useless (post nerfing I mean balance), but will never destroy them, they get attached to them.

In fact I would bet that if this were even considered by the DEVS many CH's would disapear. It is because of their pets that many of them probably still exist.

I bet that many BE's are such, because they wanted to make their own pets.

So any way it's not going to happen. But, I think that the CH population should pick up again after the combat balance (as long as they aren't re-nurfed... I mean rebalanced) and once the new influx of people from the JTL comes many will explore the CH aspect providing they aren't nerfed (balanced) again.

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.

Another thing to think about would be evaluate the pets you sell.

Pets that can only used by themselves that aren't lvl 60-70 arn't worth using as a MCH. Under 50 you may have a small market for chart climbers who can't handle two decent pets yet, but that's about it.

More focus should be placed on making duo's and trio's with armor(and or resists), good specials (onese that are On-demand),high damadge, high HAM (Health and ACTION)and popular skins.

Also I think one of the things holding us back is that our mountable pets go brain dead once trained as a mount, once this is repaired then we may see some increases, because these are very useful when they work.

I dont agree with you on dying pets...this is what I think the prob is.

I am a MCH and NBE...I make pets for sale at the baz and vendor with no problems. I think the major prob is that most MBE sell their BE pets at outrageous prices. I for one sell them fairly cheap. Not out to make myself rich and I am self sufficient. Also I remember being a NCH and couldnt afforda BEpet for a LOOOONNNGGGG...time. So I personally cater to the novice or non-ch players.

I love the sampling and the hunt and make most of my money (credits) with my hunts alllowing me to sell my BE pets cheap.

As far as pets dying....I'd have a hard with that too. I have a fav Rancor and Razor cat fighting combination that I could never replace.

I've never understood why pets don't die. I have a Cu Pa that I've grown attached to, yet I still send him up against anything that gives me some grief. If they died I probably wouldn't do that (A good thing in my mind).

Having a limited number of uses sounds good. Either that or as the other poster suggested, kill vitality packs. I know we make money from Vit packs, but we'd make it up in pet sales.

However I can't ever see the pet system changing.

This is a ridiculous idea. There are already enough drains and hardships on CH's as it is. You would see the CH community as a whole leave the game if something like this were implemented. The CH community as it stands now is made up almost entirely of players who have stayed in the game only for their creatures. That's why I'm here and came back to the game. I could not stand to be away from my pets any longer. If you take just a quick visit to the CH boards you will see that many are here for the pets only. Other than taming rares, the devs have made the game so pointless for CH's that only the hardcore have remained. This leads us to one of the biggest reasons the bottom has seemingly dropped out of the pet market. The only roll that CH's really have at the moment is taming. As such many have taken the view that natural pets are the only good pets and it demeans them to have to by BE pts. I don't agree with them, but I understand it. If the only content for CH's right now is taming, it seems rather pointless to buy them. Because of the shift to taming only, the growing issue that CH's have is storage space. I agree that it is a big issue. We should be able to "retire" our old pets that we just can't seem to part with, but are no longer useful. However, rebalancing our class to be useful in combat, I feel, is our biggest issue. If, after the combat rebalance, CH's have a reasonable roll in combat you sill see more BE pets being sold. And I'm not talking about making CH uber again, but having a roll in combat that we do best. Currently there are a few of us that are working with BE's to find ways to make pets useful in combat. We are working to find pet templates and tactics that will make them useful, and hopefully be able to help reintroduce the class back to the Star Wars community.
