l got an order for one, and i decided to give it a try. So, any suggestions what I need to sample to get high enough?

Also, a general question, do flora and meat quality make a difference when it comes to creatures? I notice there is no 'quality bar' next to the slot where you insert them when making animals.

HINT: Use 2 or 3 Mutant Rancor samples

No effect whatsoever

Yeah, I keep dying trying to get samples. I found some nightsister rancors on Danthomir, but I died 3 times trying toget samples from them. My mask scent just won't hold up.

It's do-able with Exploration 4 with +25 Mask Scent clothing and decent Jawa Beer.

I didn't have any mask scent clothing then. I do now, two pieces for a total of +28. I'll have to get some jawa beer too. Thanks for the tips.

Good luck trying to sample mutants. I went out last night to sample a few after I discovered I could not take the crafting quest in Phase 2 because of the idiotic cap on the quest.

I found a nice cosy nest of 4 mutant rancors. After several attempts, I got right in the nest with them like I was their brother. But guess what, I kept getting 'you are not close enough to sample' message on every single one of them, even when I was sitting on its lap.

Looks like SOE, in their infinite loss of wisdom has once again riled another community and nerfed the BE sampling.

I am about 2 seconds away from cancelation of all accounts, I am just getting fed up with this utter idiocy.

Might have been desync, could be server thought you were stuck in a rock or tree 30m away from them. I often do a /wave to force sync with server.

My mutant rancor's "poofed" last night after agroing and chasing me halfway across the zone.

I got a cl 70 today!

MR MR NSR NSR NSR, experimented 2 Phys, 3 Prowess, 2 Mental, 3 Psy. Was scary to hit combine in the Razor Cat skin, and quite a relief to see 70 and not something higher!
Both MR samples were Above Average, Mental NSR Very High, the other two were Above Average and High (can't remember if I got Above Average or High in Psy).

MR = Mutant Rancor, NSR = Nightsister Rancor

Is it possible to get those mutant rancor samples as a non-master scout Wookiee? To the best of my knowledge and time, it's impossible for a Wookiee to wear more than one maskscent tissue at a time (No clothing can take more than one, and if there's even more than one article that takes one, they can't be worn at the same time)

don't be an ass mchorn - I sampled a mutant in rancor alley this morning - it worked fine, it would be safer to suggest that you were bugged, which happens... SOE isn't concerned with BE's if they were they'd make creature handlers WANT to buy our pets by making CH worth the skill points...

always knew you could get better results with a kind word and a big stick than with just a kind word

One of the easier CL 70 combines is the old standard, 'MR, MR, MR, MR, RY' combo where MR = Mutant Rancor and RY = rancor youth, as a MCH I prefer the stats this produces over other combines.

When experimenting, just don't let to many stats get into the 700 range and you'll often end up with a <70 creature.

You know....

Using 4 MR DNA in onefatal combineseems awfully risky....to me. I think the lad did good with 2 MR's and 3 NSR's. By the way, give us a run down on resist, HAM, and specials. It would be interesting to see how it worked out for you.
