As far as I know, it's a straight percentage. If the 'base' brandy is +200 (with X resources), then with a +85 BSN (and the same X resources)it will be (200 x 1.85) 370. Whereas that same base brandy with a +87 BSN will be (200 x 1.87) 374.

This is really a question that should be asked in the chef forum. Those are the folks that know the answer to this like the backs of their hands. I believe I've read that for the MNS/BSN/INN each point roughly corresponds to a 1% increase in the strength of the buff, but on the other tissues (duration, filling etc.) I have no clue whatsoever.

Flavor, quantity and nutrition tissues are a percentage increase. So an un-enhanced brandy that gives +220 M/F/W will be 220 * (1 + 0.85) = +407 with an 85 BSN, and 220 * (1 + 0.87) = +411 with an 87 BSN. Since it's a percentage based off of the food's base value, you get a larger difference with high-buff food (+200ish Brandy, +500ish Vercupti) than you do with small-buff foods (+11.5 Bivoli, +8 Jawa beer).
Filling tissuesgive a percentage decrease, so a 50 filling brandy made with 25 bonus Caloric Conversion Supplement would have 50 * (1 - 0.25) = 37.5 filling (probably just 37 because of rounding, but some reports of fractional filling have been seen).

Just wondering how much better the food is with say 85 BSN compared to 87 BSN. Just wondering.

You're quite good at mask scent sciguyCO. Should get a BE alt.
