I'm generally not big on using others work but, I was curious and I tried a recipe from another forum. One of the benefits I saw to using this recipe was the fact that all the DNA can be found on 1 planet...Endor. This is such a bonus. It cuts travel expenses and the DNA is pretty abundant...with the exception of guerrecks. I kinda had a hard time finding them. So, I really can't claim this recipe because, I pulled it from swgcraft.com. What I can do is confirm that it works as expected. I made a wonderful CL24 Bordok "Tank" today, that I immediately tamed and named "Elsie".

Here is the recipe for any of you newhands and maybe some of the old too.

1st Generation:

Boar Wolf - Physique

Guerreck - Prowess

Arachne Warrior - Mind

Merek Cavern Creeper - Psychology

Merek Cavern Creeper - Aggression

Experiment Physique and Psychology "ONLY" .....to max. End experimentation.

Create new critter with 1st Generation Template. Sample it 3 times.

2nd Generation;

Merek Harvester - Physique

Merek Harvester - Prowess

1st Generation Sample - Mind

1st GenerationSample - Psychology

1st Generation Sample - Aggression

Again....Experiment Physique and Psychology "ONLY".....to max. End experimentation.

Create new critter with 2nd Generation DNA Template.

Recipe yield:

CL24

Health - 11K

Action - 7K

Mind - 5K

Lt Armor

Kinetic 60%

Vuln to everything else.

To-Hit - .24

Attack Speed - 1.98

Damage - 200-210

Special 1 - Blinding Strike

Special 2 - Intimidation

Ranged - Yes<---------------- I really didn't want this but....oh well. I know there is a way to not get it, I just didn't use it.

The recipe was dead on and very problem free. Kudos to the person that came up with it.....probably Nancy J or Seiryuu....lol. Thanks to whoever did it. I hope this helps any of the new BE's trying to make pets.

It wasn't me.

While I had some guidelines on getting the specials I wanted, I never had specific recipies for a full pet. My preference was also for more well-rounded creatures rather than kinetic-only low-CL pets.

I did this mainly to break the monotony, or lull I get inas a BE....the times when I wish I was a simple meat getherer.....lol. Also, I needed to go to Endor to gatherDeath Head DNA anyway. I too, like to make more well rounded creatures when it comes to resists, damage, HAM and multi gen stuff. It's much morechallenging. I looked at the recipe and "easy" factor and said, "meh,.....Why not?" Basically, for an aspiring BE, this is a great, little Tank pet recipe that will net you a few credits with aspiring CH's. Most damage done during PvE, is Kinetic, energy and some acid.....so one might try to stay away from the tougher pistol packing NPC'swith this particular pet but, go fullsteam onwild creatures.

For testing, I pulled the CL2 Bordok from my datapad and tackled a couple oflairs ofGrassland slice hounds and the Bordok came away almost unscathed. She makes a nice little addtion to my pet arsenal and I don't see many Bordoks running around anyway....lol.Incidentally, I did the /pet to Elsie and she made a very large thud when she laid down. Shook thescreen....lol. All that Health and Armor must make her weigh alot.....j/k.

Thanks for posting this. I am always looking for recipes to bookmark. Searching seems to turn up way more "this is wrong cause...blah blah blah" ratherthan just useful info. Thanks for the nice work confirming, and the character to not take credit for someone else's work.

Thanks Jiggly. I got in one of those moods where I whip out the Profession Calculator and start dreaming about a different template when suddenly, I realize that I need to change focus. Being a BE makes me happy like no other crafting profession could....but, there are days when I would like a more simple straight-forward combat template. Anyway, to change focus....I ran into the BE forum on swgcraft.com and saw this recipe there. I thought it would be easy and semi-interesting, if for nothing else, to confirm information. No shocks, no surprises....just an easy recipe that works.

I think information like thisis critical for new BE's toget their foot in the door and be successful....at pet making that is. It doesn't takea whole lot to figure outtissues and the kind of money you can makewith that line of products. Petscreation is a completely different scope in my opinion.

i will say that these pets sell very well.... however they're only good for grinding experience, and not good against any mob with any ranged attack since most aren't kinetic

the trick honestly is just getting the original combine with a level in the low teens, and whatever specials you want, a decent kinetic and all but energy/stun vulnerable

dashers work very well for these types of templates actually

i have a good formula for makeing LV10 pets with some killer stats but each time i take dna from the 2nd gen clone it ends up at lv 20-22 but it has 10k health , 7-6k action, and 3k mind with 60k in and light armor

i would share the formula but its kinda of a sercet but i can say this talus is my home planet.......lets say i only have to leave for Merek harvester dna and corrilla for worker butterfly DNA

lol well considering thats 3 or 4of your slots right there it doesnt leave much for Talusian DNA in the mix =)

and sounds like you're hitting the old fort 500 problem - if you experiment your fortitude over 500, you'll get AR1 and the CL will shoot up over 20. Watch your fortitude as you're experimenting physique point by point - as soon as you get over 400, stop experimenting, to be safe. The same pet without AR1 might fall in the CL10 range. If you can do it with stun and intim specials, though, that level 22'd be a great triplet pet for CHs.

lol yea i found that out, my formula is more for LV10 pets i seem to hit it each time np with some killer stats, its to make them a CH team pets i have to sample my lv 10 killer and use harvester dna to make it have the light armor and 60kin.. and as far as getting stun and intimataino is no prob most petsi make come out with blinding and stun strike or intim and dizzy nice teams if you ask me

I totally agree Kevie. This is an excellent grinding pet...and ifa Master CH plans to use this as a triplet combo...they also plan tohunt "creatures" only. This pet has no business taking on anything other than Kinetic/Melee type damage. Pitting a creature, like this, against even the weaker mobof ranged NPC's, is a gross miscalculation of their pets abilities.

Getting a creature toattain armor at CL19 is something I have never been able to do. It's one of the many challenges I still battle. /thinks to self ... ... Maybe if I try going to confession first, then going to a research city.....hmmm.
