Thread: Mask Scent Skill Question

I'm currently trying to wrap up a BE/Chef Template. My question to you all is if I sacrafice exploration IV from the scout tree to get both Chef and BE and Merchant III, is that loss of 30+ maskscent points easily made up for with clothing or will I be out of luck and Rancor bait?

Without Exp4u can kiss goodbye to decent maskscent. Ive tried mask scenting without it and its a nightmare. Dont do it!

Can you get multiple pieces of Mask Scent Clothing to get a higher rating or will that not work? I know with Chef you can stack CA tapes.

Hmm...Haven't tried that...I am a Wookie so I am VERY limited in the items I can wear...I used to use a shoulder pad, but switched to a bandolier so I could keep my armor on....I'll have to dig out the old shoulder pad and see if it adds to the bonus.
I'll post my findings here.

Yes, you can use multiple pieces of clothes to increase the bonus. However, a maximum of +25 counts towards a given skill. Anything beyond that is a waste. This is from BE clothes, skill attachments, and loot equipment with modifiers.
Temporary skill buffs, such as food, will stack on top of the clothing bonus.

I do not think that there is a +25 limit:
I just tested this in-game...
I have a natural Mask Scent bonus of +70
I put on a +17 Mask Scent Shoulder Pad
I put on a +17 Mask Scent Bandolier
I downed a dose of +16 Jawa Beer
New Mask Scent bonus = 120 (Woohoo!)
If there was a limit of +25 then clearly my new total would have only been 111.
I don't know what the max bonus is you can get on Jawa Beer, but if it is +32 that would bump me up to +136!
Maybe I can finally go taunt some Krayts without getting aggro'd.....

You can still manage. I have only Mask scent +70 naturally. But add a +17 Mask scent Biowear and some nice Jawa Beer and you can be well over +100. Haven't been killed by a rancor this way yet.

I need some good jawa beer, anyone know of a good chef that makes it on gorath?

It will show whatever you manage to pile on, but the max bonus is indeed +25.
Personally I have master scout, + mask clothes, and jawa beer for easy mode hehe.

Regardless of how much clothing you wear, the only amount that will take effect is +25. Jawa beer stacks on top of this.

Try the Mall In olympus on Corellia, I have bought decent beer there before and I just bought 45min brandy.

So basically, that +25 adds to the base mask-scent skill. Which means if I dump the #4 Scout skill, I can't make it up on clothing 
Correct?
You think it is worth it to loose that block to be able to Master BEor Chef?
